    Tis the season for giving...

    Unbelievable.

First, Shin-To-Win decides to sponsor a fellow Maggot since he can't attend the camp like he had planned(Shin was diagnosed with eye cancer and threw down the sponsorship out of the goodness of his heart since he didn't have a deposit down or anything-good luck Shin!)

Next, GT40 was unanimously voted the recipient of said sponsorship by the collective due to his unfailing generosity in all things Maggot/Minion.

Then, GT40 decides to sponsor BobMC and flykdog out of the goodness of his heart since he is a giving machine.

THEN, Iceman steps up to the plate with a sponsorship for young Lynx, who would have otherwise had no way of attending.

    Four full sponsorships!

So, in the spirit of giving, and not to undermine what the others have done since my costs are fixed and it takes nothing from my bottom line...I would like to offer 2 more spots.

I'm thinking our favorite curler Castro's(curling lessons anyone?), and one other to be nominated, or someone who comes forward with a request that is worthy.

This place just keeps getting better! I vote for Meats, and Treskow if Meats can't make it.

I see a lot of pow filled mornings for folks on this board. The karma is just flowing like booze on New Years Eve around here. Props to all the sponsors mentioned.

Since i do not own a tv...is there an annual ski awards show? If so, this 'season of giving' should win an award for generosity, if not anything else.

Totally stoked to see this kind of vibe from such a whacked out internet chat room. A few years ago I remember people with family issues...myself included, who came to this board for a little consoling...and couldn't believe the outcomes and generosities of those times.

To see it all come back around is simply amazing! For all those that gave and keep on giving, a ton of karma heading your way...as if it already hasn't come.

Like FNG said...i might start to cry.

I've said it here before - this place has a way of confirming my belief that most people are inherently kind-hearted & generous. It simply has a larger number of them than you'll find almost anywhere else.

    This place is incredible.

    Unreal, simply unreal.

I know it has been said a thousand times before, but this place never ceases to amaze me.

    hooray for the underdog!

I would like to nominate White Chocolate for a number of reasons, in no particular order:
    1. we almost lost him to his mountain bike but he is trying very hard to reclaim the love that is skiing.
    2. He's a solid skier but proper training (instead of the normal heckling/ribbing/"yeah, the landing's soft, just huck it you pussy"-ing could turn him into a true skiing machine.
    3. He has never been to Utah to ski but I know he'd enjoy the shit out of it. He'd even bring good beer along to share.
    4. He's super generous to maggots and others alike, from buying Kellie dinner out of the goodness of his heart to hosting bums and losers like me, telepath, teamdirt (among others) for extended periods of time, winter or summer. The couch of champions is always open to anyone that needs it (especially since I moved to the dining room floor).
    5. He's been a maggot since forever, probably longer than 90% of the people currently posting on TGR (remember K2 skichatter and the guy with the rainbow face?)
    6. We were just watching Stimulus earlier tonight and when Gordy's segment came on we started discussing the camps. He expressed a lot of interest (mostly for reasons 1, 2, and 3) but alas, it seemed like one of those unobtainable dream trips for other people. He could never afford it on his own.

So there you have it. One vote for White Chocolate.

I nominate myself. And I nominate the maggots to sport for a plane ticket and talk my boss into giving me the time off...sound good?

Seriously though, all this generosity lately must be having a massive karmic impact. Hopefully all this positive karma will build up and be released in the form of snow during camps (with some leftover for the Mini I hope). I wouldn't know who to suggest, but I'm sure you guys (gals) will pick a worthy candidate.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

I've been overwhelmed by this place. I would just like to say that if I have asked for help in something that makes sense, several people are quick as lightning to provide. You guys kick ass. All of you.

There, I said it. Now I need a tissue...

I vote for Bdog and AKPM. AKPM needs to go to Utah. Seriously. And Bdog is one of the nicest dudes I have ever associated myself with. So ha!

    Thumbs up

I just found this thread late. And I see that it must be Christmas early this year. Very excited about Gordy giving 2 spots also.

I saw Meats had some votes, but I also know that he has some work and finals. But I called him and ask him to see if he could get his work schedule changed. He said he would check on it, and that he would know more tomorrow about 2:00 PM.

This camp is going to be a "heck" of a party.
I want a 6" travel 20lb MTB. I found the 20lb MTB, but only good for riders under 87 pounds.

well....i guess now is a good time to go ahead and admitt that there were some tears on saturday morning. i already knew this place was unbelievable but it just keeps going to another level.

i know alta doesnt allow snowboarders but i seriously want to nominate frizzo. as the boss man he lets us jerks ski a morning or two during the weekdays but refuses to go for himself, and i KNOW this man loves to ride. just think....we could make history with the first VIP snowboarder at alta.

i would also like to throw votes to tresckow and kristen. They opened up their home to me when i first moved to utah allowing me a place to stay while i got on my feet and have been great friends to me here in the land of zion. and i know treskow recently and finally pulled the trigger on a car so they could stop sharing one (and stop calling me for rides, hehe, not that i ever minded!) so money is for sure tight over there and not about to be spent on camp. and i know they would not take the experience for granted! and we need to convince kristen how much she rules cause she doesn't believe us!

There's already plenty of nominations, but I'd like to add one:

    hardrider:
    1) He's living in a trailer. A really ugly trailer. Oh and it has not heat.
    2) The pizza shop is going under and they barely have him come in anymore. So he's more broke than normal.
    3) He got sick today, right when it's about to dump big.
    4) Give the man some luck, damnit!!!

I'd also nominate lph for even more reasons than this, but he's too busy this month.

I have to say it again. This place rules! I really wonder if there is another internet community that is anywhere near what this place has become.

I'd nominate SheRa. I can't imagine anyone who has worked harder to get better. She's right at the front, breaking trail, and dives right in when it's time to go. She's made big strides the last two years (even bigger ones if you go back three years) and she has the scars to prove it. But I think she has an edge to cross and I think this camp might help put her over it.

I have to admit, this place is by far the coolest community I have ever been a part of, albeit a very small part. Maggots make me laugh all the time and provide me with more amusement then many of my real life friends.

Many mags have offered me advice on life changing decisions and have consoled me when family members have died. You guys blow me away with the enthusiasm for skiing! The TR's are amazing, and I bet when I finally make the move out west, I'll have couchs to crash on, first chairs to share, hookups on gear, parties to attend, and some great friends.

I have not yet had an oppurtunity to make a major contribution to this community, but when I get that oppurtunity, I plan to take it, becuase so many on this board have already had a profound impact on my life, and I owe all of you!

Aww damn now I want to cry pass the tissues!
