    Finally!..........

Got out on the snow this weekend. Made a trip with Mr. Stinky & son to Sugar Mtn. NC for run after run of man-made bliss on one run of 1100 feet of vertical. The secondary purpose of Saturday's mission was to teach 11 year old Mr. Stinky Jr. how to telemark. I 'll let you judge for yourselves how successful we were at this.

I could go on and on about how it was the best day ever, blower snow, ad nauseaum; but I'd have to outright lie a lot so I won't do that. Had some good times, just great to be out on the snow on a nice sunny day getting my legs back under me before heading off to the Mini.

Wow, I don't even think it's been below freezing here yet and we're like 500 miles north of you.

How was sugar? I was planning on heading up, but couldnt find anyone to go with, and my parents wouldnt let me make the drive myself. I WILL ski this weekend. The coverage looked better than I would have thought.

And on the telemark subject, is there anyplace to rent tele gear that you know of. Wolf laurel offers lessons (several of their patrolers tele) and I was just thinkin about it.

Looks like it was a good time!

Hey, cut him a break, remember, he only pulls out the Spatulas for those uber-deep TN days.

    Cool Finally made some turns!

I thought it would never get here! Sat. was our first day on the snow.Teledave and my son and I went to Sugar Mtn. and had a blast.Wanted to thank Teledave for all of his work in helping my son learn how to telemark. At least 5 people asked him how many times he had been on those skis and he responded by saying "today's my first day" and looked up at them and smiled so bigtime, needless to say boy was I a "proud dad".Hope you enjoy the pics and have a "big-time" at the mini this year I'm sure hating the fact that I'm staying home.I'll be at JH though.See Ya Mr. Stinky

He just can't avoid his Dad's legacy, I'll let Mr. Stinky shack with you at Chez Roo for a night during the JH summit and you can figure it out yourself.

It was pretty good, heard it got a little gravelly on Sunday. You should have gone this this past weekend because 1) I was there 2) This weeks forecast sucks and it's currently pouring down rain.

I have heard that after next weekend we should be in for some extended cold weather and the possibility of a White Christmas down to around Atlanta and B'ham. Just in time for when I come back from the Mini.

And no, there is no place to rent tele equipment down here. What size boot do you wear? If you can come up with the boots I could probably hook you up with a loaner pair of skis to give it a try.

How did you happen to get into telemarking in the first place, living in TN?

Ahhh. first run I ever skied. I remember how menacing it was then.

Teledave, how did you convince your wife that that staying with two young, single girls was a good idea? You must be pretty smooth!

Only two? I thought there were three of them living there. Never doubt the smoove of a man from the South.
