    SBC Skier Page 56

Remember that thread about mags printing similar stories? I'm too lazy to look up the thread. I have to say shame on Skier for not doing their homework, but more shame on Ulmer for trying to get more play for a story deemed lame a long time ago. I've already posted my rant if you need further explanation.

    Edit: Link works now. Sorry!

    1. Fix your f'ing link
    2. Why slam her for making $$? She's certainly earned many more $$ she's never received solely for being a chic from this f'ing industry.
    3. It was originally published in a free regional sports magazine, I doubt there's much overlap between the respective markets.
    4. She had this story published years ago; there were threads on many sites then (ttips, pmag, etc.)
    5. I thought it was funny, and true. But I'm no longer a crusading teleskiier, I'm just a skiier. Tele skiiers seem to like to get their panty's in a bunch for being stoned hippys.

(I tele'd for 7 seasons on leather boots)

The best part of that whole story is that my buddy is the tele skier in question and he remembers the day a bit differently than she does. He didn't know about the story, but he wasn't too thrilled when I told him the gist of it.
Putting the "core" in corporate, one turn at a time.

I cry myself to sleep every night knowing that there are people that will never ski with me because I tele. All that comforts me is my big bag of granola.

Ya, I was pretty sure I had seen that ne around a couple of times or maybe it was a similar one because I seem to remember her having a thing for telers and writing more than one article on them. Whatever, I am not waiting by the phone for her or people that have bias (warranted or otherwise) against snowboarding/tele/alpine to call me up and go riding.
Recently overheard: "Hey Ralph, what were you drinking that time that you set your face on fire?"

Kristen Ulmer does not treat "the help" very well. Usually how you act towards people you don't HAVE to suck up to is a pretty good measure of your character. I don't know her personally, but she has rubbed me the wrong way the few times I've met her. I can understand why others might feel the same way...
