any SoCal wind junkies out there?

I'm gonna be road tripping from OR thru Cali for a week and I'll be hanging in the Santa Barbara area 11/9-11/12. I'm bringing my kiteboard stuff. I've done a bit of research on where to go (C street, ventura), but I've never been in this zone and was looking for some local knowledge on conditions/wind this time of year, places to go, etc. Thanks!

NorCal kiteboarder here. If you wanna go kite Waddel in some big 8-12 waves now is the time to go. Winds have been inconsistent due to rain, but it's still good off and on. As far as SoCal goes, I have some buds that kite down there and they always say bring your BIG kites. I mean 15-20's only. Light wind, flat water, kind of boring, but still can be fun. If you're tripping down the Hwy 1. check out Waddell and Scott's Creek. If it's good, I'll guarentee you I'll be there.

Mmmmm, Jalama. Haven't had the pleasure of getting out there but I've heard rave reviews. Git some!
