26-16 Cal over Southern Miss. Dammit! 10 points is a way sketchy way to try for the Rose Bowl. At least Auburn and USC had similar close wins.

While Cal got screwed, they were also playing an unranked team. Same with USC and Oklahoma.

I think it speaks about how crappy a conference is when the championship is between a top-ranked team, and an unranked team.

Thats true. Its also true that they chose to keep it on the ground then take a knee when they could have tried to run up the score some more. And frankly I don't take anything away from Texas either. They deserve a BCS bowl as much as Cal. It's just stupid that every other level of football on this planet from pee-wee to the NFL has a playoff and D1-A College dosen't because of these stupid bowls. It should be an 8 team 3 round single elimination playoff. That way everybody gets a chance to prove it on the feild. Cal, Texas, Auburn, Utah, they all deserve a shot at the top, not just USC and OU.

You knew someone was going to get hosed because of the way the system is currently set up. I'm still pissed, though, because the Rose Bowl should be Big10 vs. PAC10 and for that reason alone Cal should have received the nod.

Making it worse is the little bitch of a head coach from Texas, maCk Brown. Coach Boo Hoo Hoo, "Oh, I want to go to a BCS bowl", "change your votes from Cal to us 'cause we're more deserving" and then he goes to tears while his skank wife...I'm getting too worked up...fuck this shit.

They put Texas in the Rose Bowl so we wouldn't have to listen to Mack Brown's excuses for not getting his over-hyped and under-coached team up for a lower level bowl.

They've been tot he Holiday Bowl too many times in the last five years, and can't seem to get out of there own way most of the time...

This BCS system is great. You really got to hand it to a system that lets the 5th ranked team in the country play on a Dec. 30 bowl game. I thought the whole point of the BCS was to let the top teams play in the major bowls and to avoid all the conference ties. It's really fair that VA Tech and Pitt get BCS bowls. Pitt's barely ranked and they get a bowl. How the fuck does that work?

Hat's off to Tedford and Cal. It's been a fun ride this season. And here's to hoping that Rodgers returns for his senior season.
