Going to Jackson Hole early February. While I'm there, I'd like to pay a visit to one of the local boot fitters. Any recommendations?

There are a few really good ones in town. I had outstanding results from skiing-in-jackson. He's had some pretty advanced training and is located right at the hill.
Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

This question has never been asked here before, ever. Nope, never... Can you believe it????
Great! Exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for the info.
Not sure if my sarcasm detector is working properly, but yeah, I'm kinda surprised I couldn't find anything on the topic here. I did a forum search and couldn't get any relevant results. Maybe my forum search skills suck, though.
Has been answered a few times before but since it's sucks so bad to visit one bad booftifitter after another... I can say that you should go to Matt at wilderness sports (at the village). Thank me later, hun

Stephan McDonald AKA Skiing-in-jackson here. Super guy and he does super work.
Click. Point. Chute.
Another pledge for Stephen... Jackson Hole Sports right at the bottom of the Gondi... very good and a great guy. Sorted my wife out (not in that way ! lol) with a great pair of boots last season.
Rock on! I'll definitely try and see Stephen, then. Thanks for the recommendations!
Matt Sheets.
best in town. does all the pro skiers and patrol.
was at wildy, but went to the darkside at TVS

Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason
Saw Matt Sheets when I was up there.
Great fitter.
Would change my mind if I were you.
Bootsie at Pepi Steigler's under the Alpenhof, did a great job with my boots last year. Did my footbeds and some shell work. Also heard good things about Stephen @ JH Sports but don't have any first hand experience, wouldn't go wrong with either one.
SIJ has a great reputation. I know and stand by Matt at Hoback. Either of those would be my recs.
Hi there. Resurrecting this thread. I'll be in JH soon and need new boots. I have complicated feet and figured it's better to have them fitted there and test them right there on the slope in case any mods are necessary. I have heard great things about both Stephen m and Matt sheets. Any preferences between these two or are they equally good? Just looking for more updated info. thanks
^^^ they are both good, and I believe respect each others work
Your biggest issue is going to be finding the right boot in stock, late in the season.
The best thing about an experienced and honest bootfitter is that they will tell you what boot or boots fit you best, and then send you somewhere else if they do not have them in stock.

thanks! Good to hear. Already heard from Stephen who now has his own space in the hostel building. He doesn't sell boots though.
Rats. Stephen doesn't sell boots. Matt won't be around when I'm there. He said I could see Matt or mark at TVS. Anybody know these guys or somebody else at Jackson hole sports on the mountain? I really don't want to take chances with screwing up my feet on my one trip out west. Thanks.
I've worked with Tyler at TVS. Don't know if he's still there. I've also heard good things about Bootsie at Teton Boot Lab and Matt or Don at Hoback Sports. The boot lab and hoback are in town so maybe not exactly what you're looking for. No great experiences with anyone currently at JHS.
"College sailing isn't about who wins the most races, its about who can stand in the morning"
agree- both matt and don are good at hoback
I think Matt doesn't really do boot fits anymore as he's too busy with the mgmt aspect- but I still have gone there for my last couple boot fits and gotten more random guys but boots have all come out well-
I think they mentor those new guys quite a bit and the veteran boot guys are always around the boot area anyway chiming in and trying to help

Thanks for the in town references. But I'm with a crew of guys who will be driving to the resort for first tracks and I don't want to hold them up waiting for me in town. Guess I could cab it. But there's got to be somebody good at nomad or JHS. Or at least somebody who has been fitted at TVS with someone other than Matt sheets.

Anybody worked with Guv at Nomad?
dont think you can go wrong with guv either
have not had boot work done by him personally but many only go to him and as a person he is extremely nice- zero ego, does lots of racers boots
I think you've gotta narrow it down to a few boots and go to the shop that carries the most options that work for you
the bigger shops- Hoback and TVS/ JH sports will have the most options
it's a bummer stephen doesn't carry boots at his shop

Had good experiences with Dave at Jh sports and all the crew at the Mud Room (Nomad).
