    Sponsor?

I'm about to migrate to Mt. Baker from Maine for a couple weeks to shoot a 16mm film with some friends. I'm an art student and that means I=poor. I don't know much about the whole sponsorship scene, but I thought I might be able to slap a big sticker/magnet on the vanagun or something to help pay for film costs.

I know nothing about this stuff, but I figured if there were anyone to ask about making money while ski-bumming, it'd be TGR maggots. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

I'll give you $5 if you paint a picture of me, with a spiked mullet, aviator glasses, and a Slayer shirt, blowing flames of Everclear out my mouth, on your van. Or you can make it into a magnet and I'll give you $3.99.

    Defer costs

You need to have sponsored skiers/riders in the film first. Then you ask for money from his or her sponsor. A big question from the sponsor is going to be distribution? Why pay money for a film that has no exposure? For example a film crew has a deal with RSN and plans to sell XX,XXX copies is going to get a sponsor to send a rider or skier to the shoot. That sponsor might even pay for production.
If you're talking a low budge film that has no plans for distribution, you might want to talk to your local ski shops.
