Hello mins. Taking a trip to Mexico over Christmas break and am looking for beta from Puerto Vallarta up to San Blas. Will be traveling this section of the coast for nine days.
I surfed Punta Mita and Dinasour as a little squirmy but that was a while back and welcome any information anyone has to offer about breaks around this area. I want to stay away from real touristy areas...hence, staying in the village of Aticama.
I have heard there is a lot of boat access...any info on this...looking on the cheap.
Just got back from five weeks down there myself. We didn't venture too far away from Punta de Mita since we were on a boat. You can access all the breaks around there by foot though, with a little bushwacking. We found the Cove to be the most consistant. Never made it up to San Blas but spent a few nights in Sayalita partying. Mita's a pretty cheap and easy town but not a whole lot going on when we were there. Maybe a little better now with the holidays and everything. If you see the Hard Chine anchored out there tell the boys I say hello.
Easy does it dude. I didn't quite understand and I appreciate your help. I will be lookin' for it. About how much does it cost to hire a boat? I thought you might have been on a big sailboat. There is some guy down there Sylvester Surf Adventures that charges an arm n' a leg. I thought you were on a boat like that...not just a ponga.
Not exactly sure how much pangas cost -- I'd imagine if you got a group together it would wind up cheaper though. Pretty spendy I think if you're trying to do it for multiple days. You can walk into most of the spots around there too if you've got the time and want to save the coin.
