    PM Gear Peeps:

Best of luck with the construction and sorry to hear about all of the setbacks. From one of the probable silent majority sitting on the sidelines hoping everything goes well and the skis kick ass. I bet once the skis get out and circulated better, if they live up to the hype you can get those other 75 sold. Hope so, because I want to be skiing on a 2nd generation ski. Good luck and keep up the hard work splat.

I'd also like to chime in and thank all of our Bro Model customers for their patience. We only get one chance to do this right and we intend to make sure that every single pair of skis delivered are perfect.

Soon, most of our 'Dear PM Gear' letters will read like this one I got tonite from verbier 61, I hope:

I'm speechless. BROs are gorgeous. They are so seductive that the absence of snow at Verb suddenly becomes an unsustenible pain. Thanks. I'll do whatever I can to be of help to these kids. I'll be their european uncle. And, yes, also the bag is here, and looks really sweet. Thanks again!

That is the kind of response that makes doing it all soooo rewarding and cool.

hehehehe I sent this same letter to skiforum (an italian ski forum) and they welcomed the newborn in the warmest possible way. Translation on file if needed
    http://www.skiforum.it/skiforum/viewtopic.php?t=696

Now..... I'm in san diego up to Wednesday....... where the hell is a decent mountain around here?

PS part 1: I was looking for the "it's a boy" picture of splat with BROs in hands, but haven't find..... where's that?

PS part 2: Splat, the sign on the ski is the sweet spot (mid boot), correct?

verbier- yes, the line in the center is for the center of your boot.

You mean this pic of the very first Brototype?

It is my feeling that Splat is doing the very best he can. The project that he has taken on is enormous, and everyone who has bought the Bros needs to know what exactly they are supporting.

I'm coming from this standpoint. I demo'd some Nordica skis today at Keystone. The snow coverage is minimal at best, and rocks were everywhere. I scuffed the skis and put some superficial edge scrapes on them....big fucking deal. Well, the Nordica rep/douchebag freaked out when I brought them back. He then laid the guilt trip on me about how the poor soul had to hand tune the skis, and that he wasn't happy that I skied them to their potential.

Fuck that. A multi-million dollar company is upset that I scuffed their skis....boo-fucking-hoo!!!

When you buy Bros, you're supporting a company that actually cares about you as a skier, and a company that will take care of you. You're also sending a message to the huge corporations that you're tired of their catoring to the masses and how they've forgot about real skiers. FUCK CORPORATE SKIING, you have the option. Be patient.

If anyone gets a chance to demo the Bro's in the future....ski 'em like they're meant to be skied. Ski 'em like ya stole 'em

i hate whinny reps that rarely ski their product on anything but the groomers. they act like that set of boards is their last. i'd agree that if you blow an edge that you fucked up, but a couple scratches and burrs aren't anything to get anyones panties in a bunch. if he's that worried about them getting scratched up then he should save them for later in the year or take them to another mountain.

Too funny, Vets just called me and said there's a ding on one edge and I'm like "There oughta be by now. I've asked that everyone do their best to kill them."

You won't hear me whining about scratches on the Bros. As I recall, we skied over many rocks, dirt patches, etc. at Mt. Hood and you could barely see a scratch.
Splat will probably get a look at the well skied demo fleet tomorrow. I'm confident that he'll be happy with how they are holding up. They have been skied by many other skiers who push a ski much harder than I am currently capable of doing.

P.S. I have been deburring and waxing the Bros. The amount of deburring needed has been pretty easy because the edges are solid. Initially I was waxing them after each day of use as the bases started out being pretty thirsty for wax (important for new Bro owners.) After a few days of waxing they no longer need to be done everyday.

    Exclamation

Don't you guys know Geoff's second rule of ski carnage?

The extent of damage sustained to a new piece of snowsports equipment recieveing a near fatal blow is in direct inverse proportion to the desire of the owner or user of the ski to not damage said ski.

A brand new ski, purchased at full retail price by a broke-ass ski bum will explode on a groomer run in feburary and not qualify for a warranty replacement.

Getting a ski-tow behind a car, across a wal-mart parking lot in mid-august will have no neglible affect on any rock skis. (Rock skis quickly become indestructible - The actually use parts them to build the heat sheild tiles on the space shuttle.)

yup, no snow at keystone... lots of terrain that may have been questionable to have open.

and i agree, cuz i was there working for one of the big companies
(aka anonymous - but think, me = tall dude w/ beard and old school bolle shades, and you probably wanted the GS ski, but we only had it in a 175cm, so your bro got them.... were you on v-pros by chance?), well we got plenty of trashed skis, and it was no big deal for us... all skis were fixable and will be ready to use for the next event.

not to belittle PMgear, cuz i really want a pair myself (just a bit on the poor end of the spectrum)... the bros are SICK and PMgear et al have handeled the situation as admirably as anyone could ever dream about.

but just don't think all big companies are total shit out there to fuck you over.

Damn!! Small world for sure! (and yes, that was me with the v-pros) Let me tell you that I've promoted your product for eons, and that me getting on those Markers was the first mistake. You demo'd those boards to Lonestar....small world eh?
BTW-he loved them, and said you guys were totally cool about the skis.

Hey man, everyone here knows how much I hate Markers, it's just Matt was the only guy with a ski longer then 175, and after registering it was frustrating at best. That was the first time I've skied on that garbage in 6 or 7 years. I really wanted to ski your 2V, you're the first tent I went to.
