    Talking Big Dump...Low Levels...

It's a step in the right direction:

    Big Dump, Low snow levels

Friday night into Saturday, expect a moderate to big snow dump. This system has some good potential and will help build the bases. We could see some snow down to near sea level. That would be fun. We are getting closer to opening in many spots. Snow levels will be excellent, dropping to 500ft by later Saturday into Sunday. Expect 6"-18" between Friday night and Sunday morning. Beyond that, the snow pattern looks good with several new inches each day and low snow levels. By Wednesday and Thursday the snow level goes up to 7000-8000ft -- bummer! But it looks like it will fall after that. So, no worries.

We are getting closer to more openings. Mt Baker should be much improved by later Saturday into Sunday

This differs a little bit from the NWAC, but it gives a slightly more positive result.

Hopefully forcast will come to fruition.

Who needs NWAC or NOAA when you can check the weather with "Larry Schick the Grand Pubah of Powder" brought to you by the ski areas of Washington - so guaranteed to be completely B.S. free?

check http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/sew/get.php?...il=AFD&sid=SEW - for the forecasters forecast.

It does look like things are staring to swing our way though - about time.

Well since we are posting the 'anti-jinx' forecasts here- I can update that KIRO also believes in a fairly good size storm - but it was funny- Steve Poole the other night on KOMO said he could not use the 'S' word during a forecast as to not to jinx it Gotta love that!

8"+ today; Another 12"+ Saturday; and 2-4" for Sunday followed by (pause...for frustration) a potent Pineapple Express on Wed/Thursday. Let's hope the freezing levels later this week drop down to at least 5,000 feet.

Pending on snowfall Saturday- I'll be somewhere on Sunday (most likely Baker)

Well, my crystal ball is much better than yours.

In any event, I believe Sunday might be the day for Baker. ALthough, if chair 6 is not running, I might reconsider.

Actually, for about 45 days or so since mid-October 'cause I've got the voicemails, pictures, and emails to prove it

Looking at all the record books and history, it looks like we've got our work cut out for us to get an average snow year in the PNW. It'll probably be good, but not the Epic winter we all covet.

Just wait until next year with a La Nina in effect (damn, now I sound like the Chicago Cubs!). But like the Cubs, there's hope in the forecast this week! (fingers crossed)

i'm all stoked out. my stoke tank is on empty. i'm not even pumped up to ski right now. it's almost like girls and beer are taking precedence over skiing, which has never happened before. i forgot what face shots feel like. powder is as foreign as the dude who makes my kung pao chicken. i've got so much pent up energy all my girlfriends are scared they'll be walking like a duck for the next week. i'm even pondering a move to utah for the season, and i fear mormons more than fat chicks. this is my suicide note.

Sounds like we need to rally for a Z-Bo intervention, if for nothing else than to spare all those poor girls the pain and agony that is likely to ensue. Not to mention that I have a personal vested interest in Z-Bo NOT moving to Utah. Let the healing begin Sunday at Baker!

I'm confident fresh snow will be just the 'smelling salts' he needs to blast him out of this funk.

That was my thought as well. I am also thinking that being surrounded by likeminded dirtbags will be a very condusive environment to remind him that skiing comes before the girls and beer.

I went to Baker today... it was snowing nonstop all day. Not super heavy pukage, but consistent and a touch windy too.
Watch out for the lurking rocks out there! DO NOT ski anything in between Pan Face and Austin (assuming they "open" that area) unless you really truly don't care about your boards. North Face was surprisingly good. Blueberrys=good to go. Swift Creek=don't go unless you like bushwhacking.

If y'all come up on Sunday bring skins. We might need them!

I am in the same dark place as Z-Bo. It's like Ullr is telling me to focus on my career or some shit. I haven't even gotten my pass picture taken yet, they only have 8 inches at mid-mountain. I hiked for turns last sunday, and as it got later I noticed the sparks coming off my edges. This season sucks so bad right now.
I'll forgive this if we get the season to "shift" and get to ski decent snow into August 2005.
