stupid skin question

Well, I fucked up... I was putting different tip loops on my skins and I cut the damn things to short. Now I'm about 1-2" from making the tail loop catch on the last hole. Anyone have any ideas other than buying new skins? I was thinking I could maybe make some sort of extension for the tail loop, but I can't figure out anything to use. I already have Black Diamond STS tails on them because I was using them on other skis and they were a bit short for the XXX's they're on now.

My present location sort of dictates that I'll only use them 5 or 6 times this year, so I'd rather not buy anything new. If anyone has any cheap 110mm skins that would fit 195 XXX's, I'd be willing to buy those. I suppose I could cut the tail off them, but that's sort of a last resort.

Do you really need the tail loop to keep your skins on? The skins that I use don't even have a tail loop and they stay on just fine.

Can you eliminate alot of the overlap (if you have the recommended 3-4") at the tip, lengthen the skin, and have them sewn/permanently attached at the tip?

If the rat tail does not work I think I know how you can extend the tail loop. Remind me tomorrow when we ski and I will explain.
