Mounting Rossi Pivot on Wide Skis

Since the mounting jig Rossi supplies only works up to about 95mm, what is the best way to mount the Pivot binding on skis with waists wider than that?

I have seen it done by first drilling a piece of plastic clamped in a mounting jig, and then freehanding it on wide skis; but this is APITA.

    Any other suggestions?

you can C clamp scrapers to the outside of all four legs and get a few xtra mm's out of the jig that way.

If the shop has any old Look jigs, those should work, to the best of my knowledge - same mounting pattern.

First try taking the rubber feet of the jig. That'll give you a little more clearance. If that doesn't make it you gotta use the paper jig method. It sounds complicated but is pretty easy. Tape a piece of graph paper to a narrow ski. Place jig, sized for boot, on the ski. Mark all the drill holes, the boot center (or toe mount whichever the fat ski uses), and the center of the ski. at both ends of the graph paper. Use a caliper for this as most skis have funky sidewall which make this difficult with a tape. OK, so now you've made a paper template exactly like the one that comes with freerides. On the fat, sharpie the boot center and the ski center. Line up the paper jig and tape it on. Center punch and the drill holes. Repeat.

    Easy
