    Roll Call....who's gonna be in Whistler 1/6 - 1/12

My trip is finally set. Me an 3 college buddies are gonna be stayin at the Timberline lodge in the village from Jan. 6 to the 12th. We got a killer deal - everything including airfare for $750 US. I've been before but would love to meet up with some regulars up there etc...We will also be partying like rock stars so even if it's just meeting up for drinks, lemme know..... who's in?
On a side note, is there any other way to get from Vancouver to Whistler without paying $75 for the bus?
Oh and has anyone done the fresh tracks thingy, they gave it to me free for a day as part of the package.

Yes. Definitely worthwhile on a powder day. Don't expect much from the breakfast--pretty basic stuff--but it will get you fueled up.

Fresh Tracks is worth doing if you have a free ticket, especially on a powder day, you can score up to 2 runs before the rest of the crowd gets to the top. If it's a powder day, get there extra early, they only let up 250 people ( i think it's 250 ).

The bus to whistler shouldnt be $75, maybe 75 for all four?

    Here's the fees from greyhound.ca

Bring your student cards, there's a discount.

The Greyhound leaves the bus station, not the airport so you need to take a city bus from the airport to the bus station. Greyhound is $31.50 to Whistler/return. If there is 4 of you see how much a limo is, then you can be a real rock star.

A limo or van could be cheaper than the bus (from the airport), but you're going to need a couple more people before you hit the breakeven point.

Get in line early make sure you've got lift ticket and a fresh tracks ticket. Grab as much bacon as you can eat from the buffet. Normally you'll end up lapping Emerald or Red but look out for Harmony or Peak opening and get to them before the hordes arrive.

    Have a great time!

Almost cheaper to rent a car - the bus from the airport to whistler is about $60CAD each way, per person.

or greyhound, but you have to take the airporter to the bus station, then greyhound to whister. And greyhound only stops in creekside and at the loop in whistler (which isn't all that far from trimberline I think)

and i'll be there the two week 24DEC-7JAN

Just pick up a copy of Pique when you get there. It's the local weekly that has all the entertainment listings. There are many bars and clubs all with a slightly different vibe, so it's kind of hard to tell you what the "good bars" are without knowing what you're looking for.

All the bars are good, certain nights are better than others. For Apres, Merlins GLC (bit older crowd), Longhorn.....even Amsterdam but the service shit, but the waitresses are hot.
Nightclubs, Tommys(19-25, speaker dancers) Garfs 23-35, good for tourists and sometimes chicks. Beagle, if you can't get laid at those bars go to Buffalo Bills and get raped by some cougar..............maybe become a kept man......
