Offering Free Spot at December Str8line's Maggot Camp

Gordy is definitely the shizzle for putting on the two upcoming maggot camps, especially for keeping the December (10,11,12) camp on, despite having a very small turnout. To make matters worse, my non-mag buddy had to bail due to a job issue, and now I have to drop out due to an unexpected surgery.

I feel really bad about the whole deal and could use some good Kharma points so I am offering to use my entry fee to sponsor a deserving fellow maggot to go in my place . . . absolutely FREE (camp only, no lodging or lift tix).

The sponsorship will be granted based on need or general contribution to the maggot community and, of course, availability to attend the camp on December 10, 11, & 12th.

You can nominate yourself, but I will give more weight to nominations from others along with follow-up comments or PM's from the general community. If you are nominated and know you can not attend, please PM me or post to the thread so we don't have to deal with re-awarding. I will confer with str8 on the nominees and the final decision will be announced Sunday morning (12/5).

If you win this, you are absolutely obligated to provide a blow by blow trip report with pics and/or video footage. I will be in serious need of a good laugh or two by then.

Good luck and huck one for me . . . .

    -Shin

HUGE positive karma for your upcoming surgery! And I dare say you'll be blessed with Ullr's finest when you return to the slopes!

    More info please . . .

Slippy and Altachic . . . can you elaborate a little more. Need a good story or a few good reasons to go with the nomination. PM me if you don't want to go public with the details.

    what about the part

"The sponsorship will be granted based on need or general contribution to the maggot community and, of course, availability to attend the camp on December 10, 11, & 12th."?

does a shit-stirrer. who scratches his own back. with his endless aliases. really contribute?
he might. be a legend. in his own mind. but what. has Blurred contributed?

APD. for stoke. that is who I would nominate.
    Trackhead next.

Oh c'mon now folks, this is easy. Who is the biggest purveyor of stoke on this board? Who has gone out of their way to assist any maggot in any way they could? Who is one of the kindest, nicest people any of us has ever met?

    GT40

Just to reiterate. This man has loaded up a motorhome with maggots and provided them transportation to Mt. Hood for three summers in a row. He has housed numerous people bouncing through our state. He photographs and documents the antics of many of us. He has divied out free lift tickets to many maggots. He takes crap from idiots on his chosen religion without a harsh word.

The man is truly a saint.

I can't think of a more deserving individual. He is one the nicest people I have met on this board (and i have met quite a few). My first memory of GT was when he and Stoy were giving a bunch of us a tour of Snowbasin at the mini a couple years back. They kept talking on the radios about where to ski. After a couple runs, i realized GT was skipping the top of most of the runs to get into a position to photograph all of us as we came down. He basically sacrificed alot of turns, alot of skiing in order to allow Stoy to take us to some great pow and get himself into the ideal position to photograph us.

He is a very giving individual and it would be nice to see something given back. BTW, great pics of GT from last weekend lumpy.

I will gladly second BobMc and nominate GT40.

Agreed. The poor bastage is tougher than nails I tell ya. Though GT40 is a dentist and that has to count for something.

Damn, we have a diliemna. GT40 deserves it, but in a way AKPM does too. What to do? I suport nominations for both, I guess. AKPM deserves something for all the shit he puts up with (from myself as well as everyone else) and because of his unending enthusiasm for the sport. You got to respect that. Plus he posts a lot of decent stoke. GT40, on the other hand, seems to be the most generous maggot ever and also deserves the nod. Plus he posts amazing stoke. I don't know, tough decision.

I love AKPM and his tough skin and his stoke for girls, fishing and snow -- but, those pics of GTs ROCK. Expecially the most recent Alta pics. Both are worthy candidates, but i doubt AKPM can get himself there on such short notice...

Thanks dude but remember I'm in Alaska and can't get to Utah right now, and if I could I'd go to the mini and not the camp (I'm sure str8line will be at that too )

I still say trackhead, but he has skied some pretty gnarly stuff already so he might not need a camp.

are there any teenagers in Utah? Send one of them because teenagers can't afford shit

Thanks, but I'm not a huckster, nor a couloir straight lining freak. I prefer to ski slow and keep 'em on the ground.

But I'll give any maggot a free lesson on how to take your skis off without dropping them above a big rappel into the abyss.

    GT40 without question.

    And another.

I'd say bdog because he has sent me free tuning equipment and offered to mount my skis for free and just been a total Mag to me for months and months. He's the mang. However, from my current understanding, Mr. Bdog would be unable to attend. So GT40 it is. The stokemeister all the way.

Wow, the good karma really flows through this board. I've only been on a few months, and this is just one of many things I've seen here that I would have never thought people would do for eachother on an internet forum.

I don't know anyone to nominate (Although GT40's Alta pics were sweet). I'm sure whoever gets it will keep the good vibes flowing.
