I suggest you go to the local ski shop and ask for some hi-fluoro wax. It works a lot better. Then, with the hotel iron as suggested by splat, iron it into the skis. Make sure that the iron is as hot as can be, if the wax is really smoking, you're doing it right.

Prop them between the 2 beds, put a rag or brown paper bag underneath.

    It isn't that difficult.

So let me get this straight, you insult the board and then expect to keep receiving advice?

Yeah, and move the iron v---e---r---y slowly, especially if it's making the wax smoke and you have foam core skis, as I assume you do from your desire to rip the shit out of Steamboat's gnarly terrain and killer snow.

i have a storage wax on them and i was wondering if i should re wax them before i go skiing cause the storage wax is some cheap stuff, One Ball Jay. Also should I buff the skis with my brass brush before I put the wax on?

if you have a dresser then you have your work bench. put down paper if you want to be polite. i've never worried much about the bindings not letting me level out the ski. if you are, just prop the tip and tail with a couple books or just use the tv trash can combo.

bring an electric blanket with you on your trip

    lay blanket on bed

    crank up the heat

throw blocks of wax on the bed

now put all of your gear on and jump up and down for about 10 minutes.

After your skis are coated real good take off your skis and move to the bathroom

now scrape your skis off on the bathroom countertop or toiletseat.

    Flush away all the evidence

shower with them and polish them with the medium sized handtowels until you achieve a high glossy shine

now apply the hotel hair conditioner (secret: its really speed wax!)

the last step is rubbing it in really really good using the shower cap.

rewax for sure. the stuff you have on is old, soft and not the right temp for the recent weather. scrape then reapply a harder wax or just all season.

A brass brush works really well, but make sure your butt plug is in.

Umm... Brass brush is for texturing the wax, not "buffing." That's what the bottle of lotion in the hotel's bathroom is for.

but you knew that already, dintcha.

works like a condom to catch the drips that you don't want landing on anything.
