Light the Wick: Jackson Segment Filming dates

    Dear TGR:

Light the Wick is FKNA awesome. I got it two weeks ago and have watched it no less than three times. Ms. Hutz can't pull herself away from the Jackson Powder Segment- the one where the guys are skiing in the trees and it's just nuking snow. The question I have is do you know the filming dates for that segment? I'm a weather geek (as my posts here show) and I'd love to do a re-analysis of the storms that lead to that awesomeness- just for my own fun.
Anyway...keep going big and making great films. LTW is far and away the best ski movie i've seen since Blizzard of Aaahhhssss.

If they still do it like they did a few years ago, if athletes are in town (and Shroder always is) and someone who can run a 16mm is not on a another film shoot and a deep snow fall comes, they are filming.

The Jackson pow segs seem to be pretty abundant since their office is next to the tram and can literally get out early every goddamn storm cycle. So as a rough guess I wool say between December 2009 and April 2010

That's amazingly detailed! But I'll see if somebody has anything slightly more accurate. I'm guessing January 22-30th based on my WX notes...but I could be wrong.

If its like it was several years ago a bunch of athletes might roll into town and insist on being taken to the coach where they proceed to get really lit. then they all crash at a tiny condo in wilson and hottate bitches about having 16 dudes at his place. He will probably try and submit some sort of rent bill.

Jed the web guy will have schetched some of them out by standing in the corner of the bar all night long eating all the popcorn from the machine. They all now call him schetchy Jed.

Some really gung ho guy will wake everybody up damn early and they will all stumble into the VC for an egg mccollister.

Anna from the mountain will have the early tram ready to go, but some patroller who got beer splashed on them from the night before will be all cranky and try and shut them down. Lots of calls back and forth will ensue, and promising to behave better they will all load onto said tram. Todd will be heard to make the comment "junk show" no less than 15 times.

Lots of skiing will go down, followed by a 2 pm massive influx back into the office where Dustin will talk about how epic his filming skills were, Josh will be pissed about how they wasted the day, and beers will begin to flow immediatly. Some talk of drinking it blue will probably happen.

Repeat, for like 4 months. During most of this time very little actual calendar and date log is made. If your lucky somebody dated the roll of film, the logger correctly logged it with a date and if someone is really bored they can go back and find said log.

When they do, it will be very precisely labeled "Light the wick - jackson - winter 09/10"
