Thumbs up Buster's JH Summit proposal....

I think this http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...6&page=1&pp=25 should be brought over here. More publicity for a great cause and all that. Dig deep!

    Quote Buster.......

I hearby move that the Magnion Collectif consider the proposal of setting up a fund that would faciliate the attendance to the JH Summit of those further down the dirtbag end of the fiduciary spectrum.

There's quite a few people going. If some of us chipped in a few scheckles, we could spansor a member of the collectif at least as far as covering air fare to JH. From there floor space shouldn't be a problem and perhaps if TGR were able to demonstrate our complete lunacy to the right people @ JH, we could get some deal on lift tickets.

As far as the receipient of the brotherly love, I have an idea, but I think it's more important that someone should be spancered.

    So, consider the motion..

First of all, nice avatar. Would love to see everything the camera didn't capture, but alas i will just have to use my imagination.

    I would definitely kick in.

How we would determine the person or persons to recieve this generosity? Would it be a surprise ala cletus and rev collection for Plake and AC or would the prospective candidates simply tell us their story of being at the low end of the fiduciary spectrum??

It would be candidate-specific for me, but a good story/deserving person would be a cool gesture.

So far, the candidates are Mulletizer and EPSkis. With a teensy bit of effort from this consortium of kooks, we could easily float both these guys out to JH. $5, $10, $20, whatever you can do.

I'd suggested having those that contribute, vote, but if we want to be more worldly, I'm not going to snivel about it.

    Is it tax deductible?

I think the way it's working is if you make a gift to the "Maggot Scholarship Fund" you get to make a nomination if you so desire for the recipient and also get a vote for the winner upon completion of the nominations.

BH, Froz, or Cletus should probably chime in on the specifics (which may not have been finalized yet).

EPSkis would be so cool. Mulletizer's gracious post was awesome, but helping someone get here from La Grave seems a bit gratuitous. I'll volunteer for the exchange program in that case.

To clarify, EPSkis seems so worthy...it's done.

Initially, I thought we'd collect the money, then expose the nominees, but that went out the window.

I don't think the only the destitute should be considered. For one, EPSkis has had a hell of a year and that's reason enough for me, even though he's not dumpster diving like some of us remember doing.

I think what will drive this is reservation deadlines. We have to buy the tickets by 1/10 or so. So I would suggest that we stop the collection about 1/1 and figure out how much we've got. Based on that, we vote for the best candidates to subsidize, with the extra cash going to buy lap dances for Cletus or a few rounds of drinks at the Moose.

I think that your support of this proposal could lead the recipient into a life of living on handouts & mooching off the system, at least till our deficit spending guts said system.
He will come dependent on said gift and never buy equipment or trips again, marginalizing himself to a life of least effort & prolly drugs.

Perhaps you should concentrate on giving the more financially secure skiers here on the board A LOT of money as that way some would "trickle down" to the recipients in question ala your hero Ronnie.

Lest we not forget that mulletizer is on standby for any wayward maggot who lands in valley X with offers of lodging, guiding of the first rate and sweedish women in a bar owned by yet another maggot...perhaps the most gracious of all the hospitality conjured up herein. You'd be hard pressed to find a maggot you'd rather share the pillow of love with than Al.

I vote for both of them.
