Been using a Wookie Shovel pack for a couple of seasons and I really like the way it rides (high up on the back). The pack straps let you compress the contents down into a tight package so things don't shift around as you ski. No floppage at all even with just the minimum.
I would go with something larger like the Couloir or the Sun Dog for overnighters but the Shovel has been perfect for day trips & lift-served with lunch in the trees.
(As a fashion plus, the wookie blue perfectly matched my wife's HH jacket so she's happy with hers as well.)
Good runs when you get them.
Da Kine Guide Pack and an older Poacher Pack. I like the back access (two full-length zippers are inside the stays). Few ski pack manufacturers have back access - Lamar and Clive, and many a couple of others. One minor quibble I have is that the various straps flap loudly when skiing. I haven't used the Poacher pack for two-and-a-half years. For years I hiked to powder stashes carrying my fat skis diagonally. I'm thinking about getting another Da Kine pack - the Ridge, because it has stays and back access.
All Da Kine packs are so overbuilt - they're like North Face used to be ten years ago.
I am a fan of DaKine packs as well...I had the vertex...great pack but it was stolen a couple of weeks ago. Does anyone own the DaKine Ridge Pack. It looks extremely nice with the back access and holds a lot of gear for its size, well at least it looks that way.

anyhow, we don't really care much new, as we are a consignment shop (high end only - think arcteryx, patagucci, dana design), but can for sure order stuff (aka wookey), and will give a nice discount off of retail etc...
