I just posted an interview with Pat Morrow who was the first person to reach the Messner List of the Seven Summits. He is now a documentary director/producer for mountain related videos and presently off to Nepal is a few days for another project. Here's the intro for the interview...
Pat Morrow‘s photographs of mountain landscapes first appeared in magazines in the 70′s. His career flourished after summiting Mount Everest in 1982. By 1986 he became the first person in the world to climb the Messner List of ‘Seven Summits‘, the highest peak on each continent.
A year after reaching all of the Seven Summits Pat’s mountaineering legacy was acknowledged by receiving the Order of Canada. With his wife and partner Baiba more award winning photography and books followed. Around 2001 Pat and Baiba transitioned from photos into the documentary film world. I was fortunate enough to catch Magic Mountain in 2005 when it won the People’s Choice award at the Banff Mountain Film Festival.
