Rowell Award: $$$ for artist-adventurer with a cause!

Um, hi, I don't ski (please don't throw tomatoes) but hop suggested I post this here...

The Rowell Award is currently accepting nominations for the first ever Rowell Award, large sums of money to be bestowed upon an artist adventurer with a cause (my nutshell version, official one follows). Someone like a Galen Rowell, once-upon-a-time photographer/climber/awesome guy, or his wife Barbara, amazing business-woman, adventure pilot, and photographer. Both of whom were passionate about giving back, not just doing awesome things and documenting them in an artistic fashion.

Know someone like that who needs an infusion of cash to jump-start their career? Nominate them! (Or get a friend to nominate you if you qualify.)

The Rowell Award for the Art of Adventure honors that adventurer whose artistic passion illuminates the wild places of the world, and whose accomplishments significantly benefit both the environment and the peoples who inhabit these lands and regions.

My hair IS shorter than hop's, barely. He sings Journey with much more feeling than I ever could. Don't climb that much anymore but I ride the Xtracycle (www.Xtracycle.com) just about every day!

As for who's cuter, me or hop, well that depends on what yer after...

Yeah, Galen and Barbara were pretty amazing; got to give kudos to their friends and colleagues for coming up with such a cool award to honor them!
