A new venue in town run by a couple local musicians has been providing some great shows in Spokane lately.

    Hey Marseilles

Also saw the Cave Singers, not sure where the photographic evidence is...

Solid shows coming up around here, really stoked for Manchester Orchestra in a week and a half.

    2nd set. Haha.

Set 1: Truckin' > Deal, Low Spark Of High-Heeled Boys (1) > Passenger > Loose Lucy, Shakedown Street > Cumberland Blues

Set 2: Jam > The Other One > The Wheel > Viola Lee Blues > Midnight Rider (2) > Viola Lee Blues > I Know You Rider > Jam (3) > Viola Lee Blues > Into the Mystic (4) > Uncle John's Band > Lady With A Fan > Terrapin Station E: Goin' Down the Road Feeling Bad

Warren kills low spark. And viola should always be played with full songs between verses.

Atmosphere is headlining UVM Springfest this Saturday the 26th. Outdoor show, rain or shine. CBW green, 1pm. Tickets are $32, but why bother? Just dbag it and stand outside the fence.

Dave's got a good group of studio musicians, including the lead guitarist from Firefall.

Made the trek south to hang with my bro and check out the legendary Black Sabbath at the Hollywood Bowl this weekend.
It did not disappoint. It was amazing, spectacular, way better than I could've hoped for. Ozzy sounded like he drank from the fountain of youth, cackling and actually singing in key for most of the show, at least until near the end when his voice gotta bit flat. Tony sounded great, maybe not as energetic & frantic as in his youth but solid & tasty throughout. Geezer was a fucking animal! And while I would've loved to see Bill Ward behind the kit, the hired hand Tommy Clufetos was the right man for the job. He was a powerhouse back there and together with Geezer they thumped the show all night long.
As those guys are pushing 70 and could keel over dead tomorrow and no one would bat an eye, I was super stoked to see 'em one more time! It was awesome!

Set list: War Pigs / Into the Void / Under the Sun/Everyday Comes and Goes / Snowblind / Age of Reason / Black Sabbath / Behind the Wall of Sleep / Bassically (Geezer Butler solo) > N.I.B. / End of the Beginning / Faeries Wear Boots / Supernaut snippet > Rat Salad > drum solo / Iron Man / God Is Dead? / Dirty Women / Children of the Grave
Encore: Sabbath Bloody Sabbath snippet > Paranoid

World Party last night at City Winery NYC.

Karl and co. sounded fantastic. One of the best sounding singer/song writers, sooo under the radar. Excellent venue to boot. If you are ever in the area, its a great place for a show. Karl is such a card. Lots of good humor with the band and the audience.

Would have like to posted up some live stuff but my crappy phone won't do them justice....

Saw The Menzingers on Sat in Philly. They KILLED it. Highly recommend!

It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

Good acts for me at BFD 2014 were: New Politics, Kongos, Bleachers, and Cherub. I sat next to New Politics girlfriends and man they are smoking hot. Not rock and roll at all.

Haters gonna hate. Phantograms album is wicked good. If it's too loud, you're too old...

Bobby with Ratdog on Friday night was just tremendous -- second set had a 20+ minute Estimated into a Help>Slip>Franklins that "slipped" a choice Morning Dew into the middle of it. Acoustics were killer at a totally re-modeled Northrup Auditorium (where the Dead were the first rock concert in 1971 and Furthur played the last one three years ago when they closed for the re-model). Wasserman's 500th show. Kimock was too cool >> he's so good, doesn't try to be Jerry but the jams are just as swayable.

Going to see this guy and his Trio on Wednesday night at one of my favorite venues: Wolf Trap's Filene Center.

    Stoked.

This is what it looks like from the lawn. Love this place, and artists really seem to dig it. Some of the best quality sound I've ever heard in a venue outside of Red Rocks.

Going to see the Dave Rawlings Machine on Thursday. Super stoked, first live music in a long time.

Good show. The lack of a set break was odd, but the venue has an 11:00 curfew. Wish they played a few shows up here. Catch them if you can.

John Butler Trio blew the roof off of Wolf Trap last night. MAN that dude can tickle the catgut. Fantastic concert - highly recommend checking them out next time they're in your neck of the woods.
