Lange Comp 130 - who skis 'em?

So I wanted the Lange Comp120FR boot, that's what I ordered. Now I find out they aren't available in my size in Canada (size 25.0). So the rep says he will get me on the Comp130. I realize its a damn stiff race boot. I've been in race boots forever but was looking forward to switching to the 120FR this year. Does anyone else out there 'freeride/big-mountain-ski'/whatever in the Comp130. Is it going to be too ridiculously stiff for anything other than a World Cup course? I know they will be rad when I'm maching, but I'm thinking landings may be kind of harsh? Any comments?

I know a few people who are in that boot for freeriding. I wouldn't worry too much, should work well for you if you don't mind a stiffer boot, but I don't think it's quite World Cup stiff. It sure as hell isn't going to fit on my freaky foot though, so I haven't ridden it myself. I would try that on first, cause it's not going to fit the same as the FR.

Something similar to the 120FR in fit and performance would be the Rossi Bandit X1, if you need another option.

I am on the Comp 120 (non-FR model) and it is great. The 130 would definitely be overkill for all but the best and fastest freeriders. And the standard 120 is available in low volume and meduim volume versions. I don't know why the rep would recomment the 130 as it is a very different boot to the 120FR.

The retail 130 is pretty similar to the standard 120. The plug however says 130 on it but is a completly different last. It's doubtful the rep is hooking you up with the 130 plug. Pull the screws out the back of the 130 and you'll be golden.

I don't think its the plug boot but the retail 130. The only difference I see from the 120 is its obviously a bit stiffer, but the 130 is mono injected shell while the 120 is a bi-injected shell. Anyone know the pros/cons of both?

I may not be much help here - I ski everything in my Lange L10's. They seemed to have softened after about 4 seasons and are REALLY SWEET now. Now that they are fitting/flexing the way I want them to, I rarely get in my Flexons anymore. I dunno if you gave the 130s some time/abuse, they may wear into a really sweet all around boot. (?)

I can't imagine what those Nebraskans who tuck their jeans into their boots feel when they try and huck in the icy terrain parks...
