Allright, got word from university.. and I think IT'S ON!

Now I just have to study on my budget and flight-dates, but I think It'll be alright..

But anyway, anyone have a spare bed during the mini for a dutchie? (bart [at] skizone [dot] nl)

And, what kind of passes should I be looking at for the mini? If possible, I'd like to get my passes in advance, both to save hassle upon arrival and also because the dollar is pretty good value right now

I just made my flight reservations, so I'll for sure be there. Coming from L.A. on the morning of the 6th (around 9:30 a.m.), leaving on the morning of the 10th. So Cal maggots: my ticket through Delta was $138 - cheapest I could find. Still a lot of seats left with a couple of different time options.

Alright Maggots, step it up and lets get some free lodging for our first Overseas Mini-goer!!!

AH, I have to buy tickets too and I will be seeing on group discounts a little closer to the MINI. In fact, I think I'll throw up a thread right now. Let me see what the Utards have up their sleeves for deals.

Got a place, thanks to meat's of evil! Anyone know what the luggage-policy on United and/or Lufthansa flights are concerning a pair of skis?

If you're only bringing one pair there's no problem. I believe two is fine as well, and I've brought more (on United) but once they asked me if I had more than two pairs so I had to lie.

Can someone summarize the status of this thing for me, I don't want to read this whole thread right now.

Look at their web sites for the "Contract of Carriage." I think it will probably say that a complete ski setup (skis, poles, boots) counts as one piece of checked luggage. So if they want to be dicks they can charge you extra for bringing a second set. Of course if both pairs are in the same ski bag I'm sure you'll be o.k.

    Fine:

Feb 5-10, 2004, Fly to SLC, we will thow you in a random maggots house, we ski 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and then we rest for the summit in Tahoe.

We will hit Alta/Snowbird/Snowbasin. Not in that order.

    There, now come to Utah!!

    ...WINTER STORM EXPECTED BY CHRISTMAS...

THE WEATHER WILL BECOME INCREASINGLY UNSETTLED STARTING CHRISTMAS EVE
AND CONTINUE INTO THE WEEKEND. A COLD FRONT IS EXPECTED TO BRING
RAIN...SNOW AND WIND ON CHRISTMAS. THERE IS UNCERTAINTY AS TO HOW
QUICKLY THIS SYSTEM WILL REACH OUR AREA...BUT AT THIS TIME IT IS
POSSIBLE THAT SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL MAY OCCUR LATE CHRISTMAS EVE
INTO FRIDAY. ONCE THE COLD FRONT ARRIVES SNOW LEVELS WILL DROP TO THE
VALLEY FLOORS ACROSS NORTHERN AREAS. THIS IS EXPECTED TO OCCUR
EITHER ON THURSDAY OR THURSDAY NIGHT. THIS BOUNDARY MAY STALL OVER
CENTRAL UTAH THURSDAY NIGHT BEFORE SWEEPING THROUGH SOUTHERN UTAH
EARLY FRIDAY. MUCH COLDER TEMPERATURES AND PERIODS OF SNOW ARE
    FORECAST OVER THE WEEKEND.

THE STORM COULD BRING SIGNIFICANT SNOW TO THE MOUNTAINS OF UTAH...
SOUTHEAST IDAHO AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING AS WELL AS THE WASATCH FRONT.
RESIDENTS AND TRAVELERS THROUGHOUT THE AREA SHOULD CHECK THE LATEST
FORECASTS FOR THIS UPCOMING POTENTIAL WINTER WEATHER EVENT.

    Question

    ..........................................

Altachic and I are thinking of all meeting up after skiing Friday at Goldminers Daughter Pub at Alta, after we all ski Alta or Snowbird that day, and drink, meet everyone and be merry. I still need to talk with her about this, but I like the plan.

    Anyone else like this??

not that anyone reads this anymore, but...i'm trying to make some solid plans of where to meet on friday, so that you folks will know where to meet.
Goldminers after skiing friday. We'll all meet, chat, enjoy each others company and get ourselves up to GT40's for a ripping 2 days at the basin. more to come as we get closer to feb.
    you sketchy character, you
