So am I officially a surfer yet?

Everything in my life reeks: either like ocean, piss, or curing fiberglass.

    I must be getting close.

Bra, it's been way inconsistent. Like, there's been a lot of days working on the west end of the strait but not closer to P/A dude. Seems like the last two big swells have just barely missed the magic angle. That said, there have been nice small waves here and there. The potentially epic nature of the last few large swells has failed to produce, leading to a lot of sour grapes around here dude. bra.

thanks for the update...i was waffling last week about doing the drive out from seattle to check it out but i kinda looked like the swell angle was off.... last month i was driving home from La Push and figured what the hell, i should drive by Crescent just to see and sure enough it was chest high....first time i'd ever surfed the strait, it was a trip to see so much of the strait as calm as a lake and then right there...blammo...nice little peaks all along the bay. lucky that you live close enough to check out the strait without a three hour drive with a ferry ride...brah....

I guess you know this but from my POV it's been a while since the last surefire call on the strait. Lots and lots of iffy days with a good forecast but incongruity in the buoy data, or the opposite. These last big swells just pushed a big surge into the strait without much wave activity.

I got waves at CB last night but they were shit quality 4 foot closeout in 2 foot chop. It was a good day for the kayakers.

If we ever get the buoy at the mouth of the strait back it'll be a lot easier to make calls.

You're a surfer if you smell like resin dude. That means you're fixing your own dings, unless you work at a boatyard. If you do glass on fin repair then you're pushing the upper limits

You're probably more of a surfer than alot of punk SoCal kids.

Surfing is more than standing in a pit, although stand up pits are the shit.
