    Seagull Chute - 11/25/04

With three powder days imminent, we're stoked. While the rest of the weekend is gonna be sick, I realized I wouldn't be able to ski anything steep in the BC for a few days. So Dave and I took a quick morning trip to grab Seagull chute before the weather hit and get our jump turning, steep, rock lined skiing fix. We went up Supreme, then over to Catherine's pass then up the ridge to the top of Tuscarora.

We were barely below the clouds when we got to the top of Tuscarora.

Tusc sits right in between Alta and Brighton, so we could watch all the little ants at the same time. Brighton -

The chute was a 45 degree twisting narrow shot. (doglegs right)

We dropped a big cornice to no effect, and the gut was full of slough already and it looked safe.

Dave enjoying a couple mellow turns before it transitioned into a 45 degree jump turn kind of thing.

The shot from the bottom - the apron is awesome and is definitely the icing on the cake after getting through the harder stuff.

    Thumbs up

Thanks. Nice TR photos; countryside, chute and apron. Easy to follow your descent in the photos. Skin all the way up or have to hike to the summit?

Nice Gramps. Those are fun lines of Tusc.

So much for that pussy ass storm though. What the hell happened?

9 inches at Alta at the moment - pretty dense too from the water amts Collins observation is reporting. It'll be fun. The next storm starts tomorrow morning anyway

It was bony up top, but not too bad after that. The apron pow was a little funky, but still good turns. Still a little too narrow for my taste, but it'll get wider as the snow piles up.

It's a boot a up the ridge from Catherine's pass, and then a skin back to the pass from the bottom.
