    First turns of the year

After a few times out walking around on thin or otherwise unskiable snow, I finally made a few turns this last weekend. Went to Kootenay Pass on Sunday the 21st and the conditions were surprisingly good. This got me fired up to try something closer to home. So I rounded up a partner and off we went on Monday to an area we call Zippermouth.

The run we skied is the couloir that drops from the low point on the ridge:

And a couple of the ski down:

Again, we were pleasantly surprised to find good ski conditions on such a thin snowpack. It was nice to finally make turns as jealousy was starting to get to me seeing all the TRs here.

Right on, now we need the freezing level to drop and another dump before the weekend.

That is a fantastic photo, really surreal.

    Good work on getting some.

nice stoke, finally someone getting some up here.

If all the rain in the past two days would have been snow, Fernie would be set right now.
