Yeah, that one may have been more appropriately posted in "get drunk, post as much as you can."

    and the (cringe) original

wouldn't be surprised if that's already in the thread. Definitely worthy.

Sez you, I always hated the original so anything's an improvement. In fact everything after Master of Puppets kind of sucks.

All due respect to M. Berry, but I this version just screams rock from one of the classic bands at the height of their power.

Social Distortion - Ring of Fire (Johnny Cash)

Killswitch Engage - Holy Diver (Dio)

The Offspring - Next To You (The Police) not sure it's better, but it's well done for sure

Can't remember if I posted this one back when the thread started but it's one of my favorite covers of all time. Turn it up.

One of the finest... love that one, too.

PM Dawn's "You Got Me Floating is another great track on that album. I always thought it'd make a great song for a ski flick:

Tipp and I saw about a 23 minute live version of that ^^^ with about 50 other people at the 9:30 Club in DC a few years ago, it was pretty mind-blowing.

Gotta disagree on this. I like the Gary Jules version, but the Tears for Fears original is good, too. Tears For Fears' first album "The Hurting" was really good. They sort of turned to shit after that.
