Well I guess it can't get worse...

So today has been quite the shitty day.

[rant]
First my wife calls me this morning from work to tell me she backed our new van into my folks Rv that is parked in our driveway temporarily. Fortunately the RV is fine, the van on the other hand will most likely need a new tailgate. Fuck. At least our insurance will cover it, less the $250 deductible.

Second it stormed here all day with 40 mph winds and better than an inch and a half of rain. Our power goes out and knocks my furnace out, causing me to spend 2 hours troubleshooting why the pilot won't relight. Seems the dumbfuck furnace guy mislabled the direction that the pilot switch needs to be facing to be on, and I had the friggin thing turned off. Dumb HVAC dumbfuck that thought no one reads directions. Well anyway I got that fixed.

Third. And the most freaking fantastic thing that has happened, the rain that we had decided that it wanted to find a leak in my roof and stain my ceiling with a 6"x12" wetspot. So here it is 11:00 pm and I have to go into the attic to fix this problem before it gets worse. Looks like nothing can be really done untill tomorrow. However the rain decided to turn to ice around 7:30 and then to Snow and back to ice, so I have about 2 inches of an icey slushy snow deathtrap up there to contend with.

So now I gotta get some sleep and rest up for Turkey day with the inlaws. wooot!

Iceman, what the fuck are you doing in my attic. I thought when you came to town the snow stayed away?

Yeah so, I found the leak, squirrels did'nt nest up there fortunately, but there is now 2 inches of snow on the roof that is going to melt this afternoon. So Post Tryptophan ingestion, I plan on getting up on the roof with some caulk, to try to temporarily fix the leak.

I did rig up something to catch the water in the attic before it makes the ceiling worse.

The good thing about this is the roof is new 4-5 years ago and has lifetime shingles. So I should have no problem getting someone out here after Thanksgiving to fix it permanantly.
