Hmmmm, I'm not one to say. I think the couloir Stoy, Twoplanker and I skied in the Uintas was steeper and more intimidating. Only a few turns felt 'steep'. You certainly wouldn't have wanted to fall in most places.

Deseret peak would be very sick. I've been on Box Elder, but didn't get the NW line. Doing it as an overnighter from white pine pretty much sucked. A long day from Alpine would be much preferable.

The initial turns were the type where your elbow touches the snow as you stand upright. Or where when you're booting up, you nose is nearly touching the snow. Kind of a funny feeling really.
And Powstash-Stoy-APD, keep the Tetons in the front of your memory banks too. That stuff will be coming in soon enough.

You mean the guy who is 6'6" with 5'6" of that being legs? He'd look hot in a thong with those long legs.
The guys got a diesel motor for his 4th day out this season and his "off the couch" approach to a triathlon like day.
You don't need to borrow a sled, I'll tow mine down again. I towed it down for this trip, and looked like an ASS in the parking lot with no snow for as far as the eye could see. To top it off, I had Arizona license plates. "Hey, look at that chump from Arizona! He thinks he is going to ride his sled up that road!"
Hence the bikes.

Skibe...i really don't do the Beav. I'd rather BC it than ski there. Its got something to do with the mountain, the owners, and oh yeah..the owners.

Great video, love ski mountaineering in Utah, although I've never done it. Logistically, how much time did using the bikes save you? looks like quite a bit o' hassle for minimal advantage, but please correct me if I am mistaken. thanks

i think the bikes came in handy for the ride out. stoy and i kept up just fine on foot with less energy expended. the hard part was trying to put on cold alpine boots at the trailhead. Originally Posted by climb2ski

It made for a nostalgic and unique approach. But the old quads felt a little funny when the skinning started. I was worried I may have fried myself for the long day ahead.
But on the way out it sure was fun. And I'd ride again, if I had too. Or next time just fire up the Polaris.
