hey now, all of this 'weather hype' got me out of class this afternoon and had better get me out of an ODE's test tomorrow. honestly though, closing the u of u over a little wind, some dark clouds and an inch of snow (as of now)? you'd think we live in colorado or something

Everyone forgets what its like for it to snow. Can't even imagine the amount of accidents that will be due to people forgetting how to drive in the snow

No shit, the hype is unreal right now.

Nice storm though. It's nice to think that some low elevation lines might get filled in enough to finally ski, if this keeps up.

Who could forget the 7 feet in 7 days last April! (sorry more hype). Them were good days.

Those of you headed out the next couple of days, dress warmly. -13 below zero fahrenheit on turkey day?

That makes my nose hairs tingle with excitement!

A sure bummer on both accounts. No snow and no beer = no good.

That storm was a JOKE! People leaving work early, schools closing, Armageddon cry outs.........and one more reason I rarely put any faith in a forecast, especially one driven by the media train.

No, you'll surely die within minutes.

Anyone want to ski for a bit today? Going at the crack of 11am or noon.

Do I want to get out...yes. Can I ? No. Why couldn't work shut down for Snowmaggeddon 2010. Doesn't the management at can't remember shit engineering watch the news.

Was hoping we'd get enough for some foothill freaking after work today . Not sure we have quite enough depth on the foothills though.

In celebration of this overhyped storm, I present some extras from last season's edit

Also stoked that the UAC has decided to use some of the maps I was speaking of:

And also, it's time to go skiing....

Upper BCC/PC ridgeline felt like the Arctic, this morning. North-facing trees ~9500’ skied stable and smooth, no signs of instabilities. South faces were a bit wind-affected, especially near exposed ridges, but still offered good skiing in the trees. Very minor collapsing on southwest slopes, but nothing to be concerned about. We didn’t dig a pit… wasn’t worried too much. Everything seems to be coming in right-side up. I'd be interested to hear if anyone is finding anything different.

I’ve never been so cold, skiing in the Wasatch.

That would be a good guess, as an average. For ridgelines and wind-swept areas, maybe less. For leeward slopes and depressions, probably quite a bit more. I don't think any of us hit anything except the tips of some scrub/bushes poking out of the snow.
