South facing around noon. Cut a slab on a rollover that broke on the new/old snow interface. We should have been down earlier.

Cascade couloirs in great condition. With mountain roads opening up, access is great! Couloir refreezes have been good, providing fast ascents.

It was closed at mile 14 or so (first fee station) last weekend. Projected opening in late June. They were on the same schedule last year but I made it to Ruth lake on the 19th or so.

11am, 10,800ft, north and east aspects. No refreeze on east, firm skiing on north aspects, but again, no refreeze below the surface.

Clouded up and started to snow a bit when we left.

box elder today. refreeze or at least firm snow down in the shade but no freeze up high(10,400ft-ish). a storm came in and dumped graupel for an hour or so, some thunder and lightning too. We pulled the plug at the top of the shotgun chutes due to the weather and our planned objective seemed to have a lot of slide debris. of course after we rode down and started the slog out it went completely blue, at least the storm cooled things down for a minute and improved the riding conditions marginally.

Anyone headed up North Timp (Cold Fusion, Forked Tongue, The Grunge) in the next few days?

Give me a shout if you'd consider retrieving an item from on top of the couloirs, it would definitely be cash-reward worthy.

    Thanks, email: Nat.Grainger@gmail.com

Got a rope stuck at the top of the grunge yesterday. If you come across it and feel like returning it...cash reward.
Conditions in couloir were very runnelled and challenging skiing/ side-slipping. At 8am the top was turnable but getting wet quick. Once out of the sun, main chute hard but not quite bullet proof.
North chute on the way back (10am) to 4wheel road was good corn turns up high (where it was smooth) and than runnelled midway to bottom.

This was the year to ski things you never get a chance to ski, that's for sure.

I saw so many NEW lines come in this year that were never skiable before. Some got done, some didn't. It's sort of heart breaking to not ski all the shit that was possible this year.

Anyone happen to find a pair of old g3 skins about 3/4 the way up white pine? my buddy left them up there on 6/9. they are the white/blue cow pattern ones. tyfalk went on a rescue mission for em today but to no avail. they either blew away or someone snagged them. anybody out there pick them up by chance?

if this is the thread of lost gear.......... I dropped a pair of waking boarding gloves on the way up cardiff fork, gloves should be somewhere between cardiff fork and god's lawnmower. lost them last saturday (6/4). luckily they were cheap, i blame safety breaks and the abundance of birds for my cluelessness.

In other news, skied the pipeline and little chute yesterday as I have snowbird vouchers to use up. no refreeze, pretty slushy, still fun.

Bike and hike from lower gate Cold Fusion on Timp. Friday. Nice shape, hard pack could have waited a little longer for more heating. Fun session!

^^^Go to the Tetons instead, shit is massive up there. Snowpack is 600 percent of normal, big lines will be worth skiing for a few weeks, whereas although our coverage here is outstanding, the snow is looking dirty and textured, with runnels forming on many steep slopes.

you should probably just leave the snowblades at home and dust off your badminton racket. that's the only sport worth doing during july in ootah

^^ oh puh-leez. Jackson, WY is badminton Mecca; only the 'cock gapers get down in UT.

in all seriousness, Alto, this would be the spring to do a repeat of that Winds trip you did a few years ago. would love to see what kind of shit your sick mind would come up with on a season with this kind of coverage and snowpack.
