So deep & sweet today. Popped my LCC cherry @ the bird and it was awesome. Some amazing terrain out there too - you guys really have it good out here. Snowed all day and was still nuking when I left. Will definitely be back @ the bird tomorrow.

SHHHHHHH! We only measure our snowfall in inches, not feet and it rains all the way to the top of the ridges. Nothing to see here.

^^Thanks for the good skinner Alx88 this morning! We got a few clean sheers within the new storm snow poking around at 10k on N-NW aspects up there. Good skiing considering the storm started with all rain just about everywhere.

    first test on the dynafits:

one heel prerelease, toes were locked in. looooooved the way they toured, made it up superior in close to half the time it took last year when i did it. still need to be convinced on the skiability of both the skis and bindings (and boots, scarpa mobes). they do look sexy on the POV though .

oh, and good to meet mir this morning! let's get out soon!

Probably saw you hitting superior while I was eating breakfast at GMD and wondering what time you got up to do that! Snowbird did not suck.

Conditions at the Airport Comfort Inn - Safe now, after control work by the SLC bomb squad

Bomb squad responds to suspicious package in Salt Lake
    April 4th, 2011 @ 2:28pm
    By Pat Reavy

SALT LAKE CITY — Posters of a group known for seeking "pow-pow" raised fears of a real "boom" early Saturday.

Just before 2 a.m., a night manager at the Airport Comfort Inn, 200 N. Admiral Byrd Road had just returned to the front desk after stepping away for a moment and found a four-foot long cardboard tube sealed with duct tape.

Salt Lake City police and the bomb squad were called. The bomb squad "disrupted" the device, said Salt Lake Police Sgt. Shawn Josephson.

The cylinder, however, turned out to contain only autographed skiing posters.

    Wasatch Conditions

Full on EPIC today. Mark has been determined to bag miss Lisa since the first day I met him. Today she finally came through. Mark scouted out a sneak attack and we took it, its one of those trails that after 50 ft in you're committed to the 5,450' that remains. Got to the top around 12:30-1, thankfully the cold temps and cloud cover were working in our favor, otherwise we woulda been screwed! That lady must have not given it up too easily. Oh ya, nothing but powder with not much instability...

Oh ya, saw four people go down Coalpit, looked sick. Three people go up the Y and a couple tracks in Hogum from the Obelisk.

nice jab at the bird dude... in all seriousness that looks sick, definitely want to get up there. is any of that terrain in pictures 3/5 skiable (does it go down into stairs/broads or something, or end up in a huge cliff?). i also heard upper hogum area/NW pfeiff couloir is nasty, a friend hit it today and it was sheer ice somehow. be careful.

Pictures 3-5 are all of the line that was ridden.. It's hard to get ice on a S face (ice was irrelevant on our run) in the middle of a Spring day......... It's always nasty in Hogum, every aspect all day

So when was the last time the base depths hit 200 inches? After the storms this week and weekend I'm pretty confident we"ll be at 200 in.

So confident in fact that I'm booking another trip to come back in Mid - May. You snow isn't going anywhere it seems

Some folks were throwing down some insane lines off Fantasy Ridge yesterday. I should have taken a picture, but I was too busy enjoying the amazing April snow. Any mags responsible for those?

Nobody's wondering WTF kids in baggy pants are doing on dynafits these days. You haven't exactly revolutionized much by switching 5 years after the dynafiddle wave hit.
