I just started a thread on this - but might as well toss the info in here too:

I dumped a contour POV unit about halfway down Rush 2 yesterday and couldn't find it after searching yesterday and this morning. If anyone comes across it please PM me.

Oh and since I was just there - conditions are OK up there right now. Lots of crust after yesterdays sun but north facing protected zones should be holding the goods still. Below treeline the whole zone seemed to be spared the strong winds the last few days, but I'm sure above treeline took a beating.

I'll be up there Sunday around 9 or 10 if anyone's interested in some laid back touring (rose looks like it's going to be blooming this weekend). Gray Xterra, green skis with a Michael Cares sticker on 'em. Ask for change we can believe in.

So much snow right now! Had the insanely lucky privilege of camping out in first creek sunday evening, waking up to a foot of suuuper nice snow and a closed pass. the CDOT workers reluctantly allowed us to stay on the pass when they saw us in the morning, after we promised we would only ski first creek, driving between the 1st and 2nd creek pulloffs. THe pass remained closed all day and i can confidently say we were the only people skiing up there - fucking unreal.

Big blasting on the 80s on Monday as well, took them a while to get everything cleaned up and get things open again

yep, yesterday was EPIC. Skied Chimney Chute and most of the stuff around it. Lots of big slough but nothing too alarming. With all the snow now though, the sloughs could be almost 2' deep so
i would be very careful on steep slopes.

I was going to head up there after work but I think I am going to head up to the resort and ski some groommers. It has been really warm I would be surprised if the snow is still any good up there, especially late in the day......

I was there on Mon and Tues. Both days we were the only group skiing on the west side of the pass (top and 2nd creek). Incredibly refreshing not to have a crowd. The snow was surprisingly good for the temps.

Went up yesterday. It was just us and one group up at the Current Creek cirque that we could see. Tea Cup was bulletproof on the way up. 90's and Second Creek were decent. The trees are where it's at right now.

We screwed around with a pit and found a weak layer around 5cm deep that sheared pretty easily (sun crust?). There's also a buried weak layer about 1 meter down, but we were having a hell of a time getting anything to move. It pretty much echoed what the CAIC forecasts have been saying.

My pit skills are the worst skills.

This has its own thread, but I figured it would be appreciated here too. Bad snow, flat landing, lots of crashes...tons of fun.

Good day out, I haven't been up at the pass much this year but it looks like the trees are still delivering the goods on the eastside. Typical boilerplate up high but once we got to Roberts Creek the turns got juicy in the trees and chutes down to Seven mile, definitely worth the hike over.

Across the way Current creek bench cornices, looks like one already dropped in the left of the photo.

Back side of School of Mines Peak... crown in bottom right of photo.

    Looking down uppers Roberts.

today was a great day out. summited russel then traversed to the CC bench and dropped in before the cornice and it was $$$. also skied x and y chutes which were also $$$. the cliffs around 90's were had very soft landings but down lower everything got pretty wet.

    Anybody up there today?

Was in RMNP today, it was deep but sun crust did not refreeze before this storm.

today was awesome. Skied from 1 to 5pm and it was around a foot and a half in some places. Nuking snow when we left. Skied Chimney Chute, Nitro, and the 90's. All were very good and the only avy concern was in Chimney which was pretty manageable.

I was booting up the west side until after 7pm. Still dumping when I left. Windy and wet wraparound storm. Gaffney's is so filled in right now.

Left a backpack in someone's Subaru who gave me a hitch up from current creek. Black dakine believe pro. If it happens to be someone on here it'd be nice to snag it back from ya at some point.

Today did not suck. Skied all morning at Loveland. Once the goods on 9 got tracked I left and went to Bert. Floral was ridiculous. Bottomless in places and mostly untracked. The sun was cooking it pretty good by the time I left around 2:30 but I think there will still be plenty of sexy time up there tomorrow for those who are willing to make the effort...

If anyone's up this week and has a clear view to the north, a photo of the south side of Longs would be super-appreciated.
