Great car camping tale. I bet a lot of people don't have shop space so they have one at the home store. So civilized! Getting winter tires on rental cars in Japan is such a game changer IMO. Are they the only country to have figured that out?

I just installed 2' x 2' x 1/2" interlocking foam mats in oue class C. Cheap, removable, warm and cushy. I will probably put some throw rugs on top.

I rented a fiat on the blackmarket with cash and no contract in Argentina a decade ago and it came with studded snows. Hell, I didn't even have a valid driver's license. The only upside of the "A Factor".

Anyone have experience with a Chevy avalanche and a topper that let you crawl through the mid gate?

Little gut project coming along. New PT subfloor in. Ideas for self leveling of some sort to fill the gap between subfloor and fiberglass? Mfgr had particle board glued down and linoleum on top. All rotted. The fiberglass below isn't dead flat so PT sub has airspace and flex.

Will probably just put LVP of some sort on top of the sub.

I also recommend we put a coating over the exposed fiberglass. Hurculiner? Something cheaper? That shit is spendy and doesn't cover far.

Owner wants a bare bones place to put a cot after fishing all day and having a few beverages with dinner. He doesn't want any fancy stuff....so we stripped out the sink/stove/etc.

^^^make a template and just put another piece of 1/2 on top? Use luan strips or the plastic one countertop guys use and a hot glue gun. Leveler of filler is gonna be hack I think.

One gallon Monstaliner. WAY better than shit Herculiner and looks way better. I’ve used this stuff extensively over fiberglass. Can obtain in any color imaginable.

Needs warm temps > 50 to cure. Needs ventilation, wear a respirator, don’t do it in a garage connected to house (stinks).

Yeah I was tempted to put another layer of 1/2" on top and then paint it with some kind of high traffic paint instead of dealing with leveler/some other kinda of flooring.

So I guess crank the woodstove in the shop and put on some GD?

Amazing. I'm thinking "Killer Beej" is the perfect color lolol

Or put a space heater in the camper. Dries quick when warm. Makes a very hard yet flexible durable washable coating. I’ve coated two campers with it, camper interior showers, walls, floors, etc.

    Two part polyurethane.

Nah that's his toolbelt/vest. Gary Katz is a legend in carpentry. Lives in my "neighborhood". Looks like a harness from the video cover though!

I'm worried my subfloor is still too uneven. This flooring is good for big temp swings, but floating the whole damn floor will be loose basically. Not like there is going to be baseboard trim holding the edges and a house doesn't shake around like a trailer will. Hmmm....

Edit to add: I used PT subfloor. Of course every LVP etc I have found says can't be put directly on pressure treated lumber. I'm tempted to say fuck it. Pull up the shiny underlayment and put glue down. This Smartcore flooring CAN be glued down.
