Saw this hog rolling though Ashland OR this afternoon. It looks really good! Quality build on the exterior for sure.

Update: been camped here for the weekend, I guess. The guy said get a picture of the front with the lights on. Friggin' sweet.

That'll be I in the bus, eventually!

The build has been moving along steadily. I decided to do a curved transition from the very front. It will be unique and Ms CE likes the caterpillar forehead look.

The method was to form it with flexible wood strips, staple plastic over them, and have the spray foam guys coat the underside. Now I'll get up there and carve it to my exact shape and fiberglass the whole area.

I just picked up my solar system: 6000W 240V inverter, 3200W solar, and 10kW of 48V batteries.Click image for larger version.

Spray foam interior with epoxy/glass! That’s a big undertaking!

I’m not actually sleeping “in” it, but it’s getting the job done handily down here, for $24 a day.

Yeah the stationary trailer that you can use as a cabin is pretty appealing.

SA rental car life looks pretty excellent! I did that in Hokkaido 2 winters in a row, but obviously I had to actually sleep IN the car. SA is very much on the list.

They don't allow any overnights in their lots. There is an overflow lot down the pass a mile or so where they allow overnights, but not longer term trailers I'm sure.

I bought 1/2 acre 4 yrs ago specifically to park a camper. Drive down as the storm is coming, ski till it's over head home the next day. Had a 17' Casita but was just too cramped. 25" to the bull wheel.

Whipski that is awesome that you found land where you can park the trailer problem-free so close to skiing. Maybe this is more common in the mountain west, but it seems more rare up in the PNW regions.

The rental car we got in Hokkaido would have been tight to sleep in. Did you upgrade to a Prius?

Must have a minimum of a half acre. Temporary use permit required. Limited to 180 days a year. Fairly common down here. Rio Grande county CO.

That sounds pretty convenient. Are those rules specific to your county?

Park in the 4 wheel lot. Walk to Raven lodge or skin up the run which lets you ski right to the car for early pow turns. Usually have the pups in the car so drop in couple times a day to romp in the snow and pee.

Game on overnight as someone gratefully flipped a switch Sat at 3am. 0 to 15cms at base by 11am, 30 by 3pm. Easily 70cms at mid by end of weekend. Great to get the camper where it belongs for a night. Probably 8 other camping units over the weekend, that's pretty big numbers for us up here that early, nice to see. Lifts due to spin Dec 7, but I plan at least a few nights up there before that.

Ha! I connected with this guy the first time I went there. He had cars for rent. The first time I got a 4d thing that was like a Toyota Matrix but had suicide rear doors and the front passenger seat folded forward to go fully flat, and the next trip we got a Honda Odyssey, which we found out on arrival is NOT the same as the US Odyssey! It was more like a wagon, but we made it work after a trip to the local Home Depot like place, where they let you use their tools in a shop in the corner to build a bed platform! The cars were a little clapped out, but AWD and had new snow tires, so we didn't care.

It did seem a little strange to give some guy $1500 in exchange for a set of car keys and zero paperwork, but it was so cheap that I didn't care. I tried to get a car from him again another year, and he didn't respond, so maybe that business model wasn't viable.
