    I'll be there on the 4th. If the guides are dicks about where you can and can't ski after boot packing I probably won't show up on the 5th.

    I have a question/problems with these general reports.....danger being considerable, arent we talking about sluffs/soft slabs with all this new snow??at least the day or two after the new pow??

    does the danger take into account the type of avalanches/danger of the different types into account? basically are they saying the deeper layers are unstable, or the new snow is dangerous to sluffs, smaller soft slab avys?

    I was amazed at how light and fluffy the powdery snow was and at how the challenge never ended.

    I don't think it takes into account the type of avalanche just stability. That being said even small surface slides can kill.

    also the higher the overall danger, the higher the probability of the slide involving lower layers.

    One other thing I forgot to add is that new snow adds stress to the lower layers making them unstable as well. It can take a few days for the lower level to become stable with the new weight on top.
