QUICK help - alta, mammoth or stay home for t-giving?

Must decide in the next hour or less!

Squaw is an ice rink, and only getting worse.

Is it worth the time and expense to drive to alta or mammoth thurs-sun????

From what I can tell on NWS and alta.com, alta is the best of the 3 right now, but Mr. B is still not convinced it is worth the price of admission at the moment...

    411 HELP!

I'm leaving SLC and going to NH for the holiday weekend, so chances are there will be some snow. I bet Alta will be good.

If you're not down with that the farmer's almanac style of weather prediction, NOAA says there might be something nice coming on friday. Cant say for sure, don't want to jinx it for the folks who are hanging around. I'd say come down here and try your luck.

Mammoth was in pretty good shape last weekend. There were still a few rocks poking up, but all of the mountain around Main Lodge was skiable. The just opened up the Canyon Lodge side a few days ago, so I don't know what things are like there, but I suspect there are quite a few rocks off the groomed stuff.

so I take it the mammoth groomers are NOT boilerplate ice like squaw's right now?

mammoth has had the same conditons lately as tahoe: super-cold nights, rather chilly days, high winds = icy boiler-plate. mammoth peeps: correct me if i am wrong? so doesn't look much different there.

NWS says maybe something brewing in the Sierra Fri/Sat - too soon to call, but we might get a nice little fast moving storm outta this, and some fresh....NWS also calling for possibly heavy snow in the Wasatch out this same storm over the T-Giving w/e...but again, too early to call...

Mammoth's groomers were not boilerplate LAST weekend. I don't know about this weekend, since I was choking on the SoCal pow.

(I'm probably going to spend the rest of the winter bragging about how awesome Sunday was.)
