    Mad Props to the Maginions

to quote str8line, this place is blowing up!

Splat, Mtbakerskier, BakerBoy, PowderPig, Str8line himself, Schmear, Slippy, Alka, Marmot, KevinDineen, John R. Jentina , Super G, and more...all bringin' it in one way or another in the ski media/world this year. Now, three more to add to the list, BCRider, Schralper, and Strandman, in the second issue of Couloir!

FKNA, get some (more)! We're taking over the world, little by little.

[coughs quietly] i'm doling out a lot of magion coverage here. [/coughs quietly]

in all seriousness, you guys have been killing it. although i do feel like a dork when we get something rad here, and the conversation goes like this:

me: damn, i know that guy.
    others: where from?
me: uh, this skiing forum, on, um, the internet?

see, I knew this was gonna be one of things where I listed a few names and forgot more than I remembered.

Tyrone, Lane, and 3pin (not just for doling it out to others), mad props to you too! (My apologies to anyone else I've missed. Particle, perhaps, in the latest issue of Powder that I haven't yet seen?)

But, doesn't this all beg a question? Is it the chicken, or the egg? Are the people that find this corner of the internet pre-disposed to "show up" eventually, or is it that this place actually fosters the creation or conversion of mild-mannered ski geeks into story-writing, picture-taking, film-making, cliff-hucking (etc) fools?

hahaha...that's getting easier and easier to do these days with so many people around these parts contributing good schtuff so regualarly.

And that's an interesting question you post above too. The safe answer is of course a little bit of both....but for me, there's no way I'd be involved with PMG, or would of had a small picture or some short stories published, had I not been active with this community. So for me, I guess I fall into the category of mild-mannered ski geek transformed into a fool...or should it be mild-mannered fool transformed into a geek ...whateva....
