Arrow loving vibes UPDATE, under the knife Wed. morning!

saw the doc today, was there for a good 3 hours. Took some chest x-rays and got some blood drawn. Was in the dreaded gown without any clothes on..i hate that! What it comes down to now is: I go in Wed. morning and get a 6" in length incision just above my left elbow. He will cut down to the muscle and take a chunck out, stitch it up and i'll walk out higher than high on drugs. He'll send that to the pathologist and we will go from there. So really, i won't know where it has gone besides right in that area until the end of the month...but i'm confident that after getting this cut out i'll be good to go, it doesn't affect my skiing in any way so that's the best news!! It's snowing and skiing is right around the corner...once again, LIFE IS GOOD!

That's right, assume they've taken care of it with this 'procedure' because there's no reason to do otherwise. If anything else has to be done down the road you'll deal with that then.
Sounds like you've got the right idea, keep it up.

    Wink

Wait... let me get this straight. You're a woman who keeps a more than positive attitude through an ACL tear, intensive PT, melanoma, and all other horrible things to befall you. You ski better than most guys. You live in Utah, and you ski Alta on a regular basis.

    Will you marry me?

Although, I suppose it's not likely that you're single. *sigh*

Anyway, I am really glad to hear that things are improving for you. Good luck with everything, and go ahead and fed-ex me some of those pills you get. I'll make sure they aren't poisoned.

You are in luck. She is single and was just telling me the other day how she loves those young crew members with their big bulging muscles and that great groan face. Go for it Sammy!!

I think she is into the skier type too, but I'm not sure on that one.

Even though I don't know ya, I'm continuing to send lots of love and good thoughts your way. Your good attitude will go far towards kicking this thing!

See you on the slopes soon enough hopefully!!!

After reading your post, I knew exactly what I wanted to say, but someone already said it for me.

I don't know you, I've never skied with you and chances are we may never share some turns, but any person who remains upbeat about the prospect of undergoing a hefty biopsy must either be inspiring to be around or a total pain in the fucking ass. From what others have written I suspect it's the former. Best of luck, Liz.

i think i was so moved by the outpouring of love in the last thread that i forgot to include my own wishes for your peace and health. please know that i'm sending nothing but goodness.

ac, you're wise not to underestimate the power of a positive attitude. methinks it was part of a forwarded office e-mail i read a while ago, but the message still seems valid: shared joy is double joy while shared troubles are half troubles, or something to that effect.

ps- enjoy that whole "higher than high" part you mentioned.

Ask them if they can make the incision curvy. Then you could have a funky scar that looks like a ski track. How cool would that be?

Best of luck in all. Once again, you've got the attitude covered and that is truly inspiring.

Can I have a copy of the chest x-rays? I’d actually be interested in some gown pics (from the back of course) if they exist as well.
Keep up the attitude babe and remember "dudes dig scars"!

Sounds like your prognosis is good Altachic! Stay positive (which is like, your middle name!), and it's all going to be all right.
