    Two Elk Friday

I am planning to ride Vail Pass > Bowman's > Two Elk on Friday with a couple friends on our way to Moab. If anyone in the 'hood wants to join us, we'd appreciate sharing a shuttle and the beta. Should be up there by 9:00 or so.

Otherwise planning to hitch back from minturn or west vail to the top of the pass. That doesn't seem that difficult, can anyone confirm the hitchability?

Well that sounds like a good reason to bail on work... how many friends are you coming with? Got an F-350 crew cab that can shuttle a few

What time can you pick me up at the Min'urn exit (171) ranger station?

Also, would you consider an extra out & back spur to Benchmark? i think it's 2.5 mi. each way from Two Elk Pass

It's actually more funner to skip Bowmans and just ride up from Vail to the gondi, take the grand traverse over and up china wall to the 2 elk connector, then drop from there. Not only does it eliminate the heinous climb, but your car is in Vail which you can easily return to on the bike path for apres at Vendetta's. Would join you, but I want to preserve the legs a bit, and I'm leaving for Moab nowish.

^^^ but then you miss all the root-romping from Bowman's to Two Elk Pass!

also, they've been 'coptering the new Chair 5 towers & such, and I'm sure the cable-ing is going to start soon... I would hate to be shut down & turned around by Mtn. Patrol at Windows
