There was a lot of security there. Watch a replay. The guys in red and/or blue golf shirts are security. They are not armed and are instructed to not touch the players.

Pistons games are extremely mellow. Not one person was arrested at the palace when we won the championship. so nobody was expecting anything to happen in an early season pacers game.

Security cannot touch the players. So who is to stop Artest from going into the crowd? Nobody. He shouldn't have gone into the crowd in the first place.

who should have stopped the two little guys? Security. Things were pretty hectic and two guys slipped passed them. If you think there was some way to subdue the crowd and get them to stop throwing shit AFTER Artest went into the stands then you must be a security wizard. (not trying to be a dick, but I just don't think you can regain control at that point)

OH...HA ,..word on the street is that the fat dude in the grey sweater who was punching Jones, is Ben Wallace's brother.

Woodsy, honestly, if you were security director, would you foresee players bum-rushing the stands after debris was thrown at them? Fans toss shit all the time at sporting events. I'm not condoning it but that's the reality.

I don't think anyone could foresee a loose cannon like Artest bum-rushing fans.

Think about this - who's got fleeter feet? A husky security dude, or an extremely fit and angry NBA player? I guess we know the answer to that question now, eh?

Besides, it wouldn't even have been a major incident if Artest knew how to channel his anger like 99.9999% of pro athletes do. Someone get that thug some anger management. Better yet, put him in anger management with the dipshit that tossed the cup. Booya!

It sucks that it happened in Detroit because as far as Pistons games go, they're always uneventful events, (heh) even with the usual assortment of asshat hecklers. The actions of a few jackass fans that night just gave tons Pistons fans everywhere a bad rap.

Everyone is reponsible for that incident, so assigning blame is pointless.
