Stern might have suspended me just out of spite

i know, i mean, how often do you hear 'rejoices' used in a hip hop song, excluding Kirk Franklin's Nu Nation? That's alright, i'm going to ask for some time off from work because i need to rest, and promote my album. but then a few days later i'm just going to beat the shit out of one of the web developers and get put on "you're a fucking nutcase" leave for a year or so.

no, that other time it was a "you're starting to scare some people" probation. not really 'leave' per se. more just like, no firearms and restricted access to certain areas.

    Horseshit

Any fan in any city could have thrown a beer on Artest. So, people calling detroit fans punks for that are pretty dense. I think most people are just surprised at how Detroit fans didn't turn into gigantic pussies when players came into the stands. They defended themselves, against 7 ft tall professional athletes instead.
And the guy who came out onto the court, fuck, Artest going into the stands opened up that door. I feel like this was a good representation of the kind of people/ sports fans we have in Detroit, and I like it. We're already considered the bottom of the barrel by everyone else in this country, we might as well dig a little deeper.
Where else are you going to find a 5 ft tall chaldean dude who has the balls to square off with a 7 ft tall professional athlete.

    yeah he dropped pretty quick.

you would have probably dropped just as fast, along with everyone you know.

yup, people definetly tend to get knocked out when punched by gigantic people.

thats for sure. although, i'd like to think that i'm smart enough not to walk out onto the court and try and fight a professional basketball player. but if you think thats cool, and like your cities sports fans for having that as a characteristic, more power to you.

i did think my comment about where else you might find a guy like that was pretty funny though.

what are we disagreeing on?? you have to clearify stuff like that.

do you think i am not smart enough to engage a pro baller in fisticuffs?

or did you not think my gene pool comment was not at all funny?

you have to do a service upgrade on your sense of humor.

and i never said i didn't like that (walking up to players and engaging them in fist fights) as a characteristic of a detroit fan, all i said was more power to you if you do. the gene pool comment was funny though, you should just admit to that so you don't look stupid.

The gene pool comment was predictable. I actually thought of someone saying that while I typed the original comment. But came to the conclusion that nobody would make a joke that was as dry and predictable as yours.

As far as my sense of humor is concerned, I have none. And probably will be better off without one if it will lead to me making dry and predictable jokes.

fair enough. i'm just confused to why you modded out that quote from me if you were just not finding the joke amusing? why wouldn't you just say that in the first place and we could have avoided this horse and pony show?

edit: and basom, seriously. how could you even think of making a joke about that rad, loveable, tough-as-nails underdog city of detriot. i mean, let's all just talk about how great it is. ok? i mean, these were my friends, and they were made out of gin boxes!

I don't even think artest went after the right guy-the guy he went after appeared to have a beer or soda in his hand-I think that guy's mistake was cheering for the beer-soda bomb

This kind of thing is capable of happening at any arena in the league. A similar thing happened in the mid 80's at the end of a Jazz-Warriors playoff game in SLC. It nearly happened after the 98 NBA finals in SLC, although that was mainly between fans, but Dennis Rodman was headed for the stands before a huge police officer stepped in front of him. I am more suprised it hasn't happened sooner.

I think it's funny when people are confused. But that would have nothing to do with any sense of humor.

Why do I find this so ironic that this brawl happened in a city which refers to itself as "Hockeytown".
    "Don't drive angry."
