    Angry skiershop.com (angry rant)

So I ordered some flexon pro T's in the beginning of september from these guys, they charged my credit card within a few days, and then I never heard from them. A month later I called them to find out whats up and they said the boots should be shipping out "within a week". 3 weeks later I call back and am told that the boots may never show up, but they were talking to Raichle every few days until they know what the problem is. I call them back today and talk to some guy that treats me as an annoyance and instead of telling me anything valuable he tells me that the I will get a tracking number when they ship.

I had heard that this place was well known for its excellent customer service, but I would never recommend anyone buy anything from them. I know that they are at the mercy of the manufacturer, but charging my card and then not contacting me when the merchandise is unavailable is just plain irresponsible. I'm planning on calling them tomorrow and telling them to forget and give me my money back.

edit- damn rants feel good. Now that I got that out of my system I will say that the girl who works there is actually really helpful.

Drag that you're getting shafted. I've had good experience with them, but then again, it was with stuff they had in stock.

Use your credit card company and deny payment on the item.

Too bad Raichle has such crap distribution. I'm still looking for some Raichles and a twin tipped helmet.

That's a bummer on your boots and totally unacceptable that they charged your card.

That said, I've always had extremely positive experiences with them.

okay, I'm not so pissed now. I'm going to tell them to send me the flexon pro's instead (which are available right now), credit my card the difference, and that I want them shipped by air instead of ground, and that they should eat the cost on the faster shipping because of how long it has taken. That's not that much to ask, is it?

in the past they have always made it right for me. i've ordered stuff from them online, card charged, then called to find out they hadn't updated their site, and there are no more of those (binders in this case, also ski bag happened to me), they have then gone the extra mile to find said item from whever, in this case it was '04 p18, when that took forever i called and was very nice to them and understanding and they sent me an '03 zrv for and insane low price (the orginal binder i ordered was the 7-17 look zr and that was priced less than the zrv). the whole process took a very long time but i was sooo stoked to get hooked up. they also sent me a million stickers and some tee shirts. it is a very small operation i think and they get a lot of special orders. just be nice cause they are good peoples from my experience. i bet they will hook up the shipping

you shouldn't have to be nice, you shouldn't have to hound them, you shouldn't have to get so frustrated to the point where you actually settle for something different. if they are serious about running a company, they should be serious about fulfilling paying customers orders.

with the amount of gripes i've seen on the boards, i'm always amazed that people still order from them.
    fine

Seems not everything on the website actually exists. From now on if anyone wants to order from them I would recommend calling them and asking if they actually have the product you want before ordering.

Working in retail myself I realize that everybody always has a different experience. I personnally had a great experience with skiershop.com last year when I ordered my DP's and binders. They were going to hook me up with ZRV's for a pretty cheap price, but since I can buy Rossi binders for cost they hooked me up with some P14's for dirt cheap. I think I ended up saving close to $500 on the package going through them over buying the stuff from just any random retail store after they matched TP's prices at them time and the binding deal I got. Plus, I had them at my door mounted in 5 days. I also get very pissed off when I get yanked around like that. Good luck and hopefully they will hook you up sweet. I'd let them know that you hear from people who like their service, but that you are very disappointed. They might give you an even sweeter deal.

    Thumbs up

i ordered a ski bag from them last year. the website clearly stated that it had wheels, but when it arrived -- no wheels. i was pissed b/c i was heading to the airport in 4 days and didn't want to have to lug two pairs of skis on my shoulder.

anyhow...called 'em up, bitched and moaned -- the girl managed to upsell me to the double skitube w/ a killer discount, charged me the difference from the skibag i'd already ordered, and expressed it to me along w/ a return shipping label for the wheelless bag.

i came out of it all pretty satisfied. customer service really does seem to be key with them, but i also got kind of the vague impression that they were a tad disorganized. i'd do business w/ 'em again.

If you go to the shop, it's not like it's some ski superstore. Their website has a lot more stuff on it than they actually have on hand at any given time. I think that it's probably best to make sure that they actually have the item in question in stock before ordering if you need it soon.

Ordered some DP's from them back in June. Credit card was charged but product was not delivered. Gave em' a call and a few days later I had some SS Pros in my hands so all was good. Apparently the DP's were on backorder with no ETA. What I don't understand is why can't they at least send a courtesy email to inform the customer of the situation? I never received an order confirmation email nor was I contacted in anyway about a delay. That's just piss poor.

My Skiershop experience. Ordered some explosive's, they charge my card and said they would ship a day later. This was Sept 20th. 4 weeks later and a few phone calls to Bobbie and Mike I finally gave up on the 190's didn't come on this weeks shipment story and demanded my money back. That is when they asked me if I wanted a different pair of skis. I did and they sent me some SS pro's for no extra charge. It turned out to be one sweet deal. To sum it up they are a small shop doing a big thing with the net store, but they truely want to please all of their customers. I will shop there again.

Hi. I'm phUnk. You might remember me from such roles as "Powdermag's Official SkierShop.com Rep" and later in my career, "Powdermag's Official EX-SkierShop.com Rep Who Is Tired Of Being Associated With A Company That Seems To Bungle Half Its Orders."

I just got my money back from them this morning. They were really polite and apologetic. I know that they are at the mercy of Roces poor distribution, but I wish they had told me this in September when I was charged for the boots.
