Whats up everybody? I grew up riding (trying to hold an edge) on the icy slopes of New England but am moving out to Tahoe in October. I originally got linked to these forums a few months ago while looking for housing and joined then. Then I got linked here again, only this time it was to the "Interesting craigslist..." thread. After reading that I decided I had to become an active member of this derelict community. Anyway, looking forward to working my way out of JONGdom, and in response to any initiation crap "FUCK OFF!"

What's the haps on tha craps?

While innocently acting out my fluffy white fantasies (and summertime frustrations) through google at work, I have stumbled upon this forum a few times. I had no Idea I would want to be a contributing part of this strangely dysfunctional, homoerotic stoke party, but here I am. Grew up in Portland, OR, enjoying the great peanut butter, concrete, and the occaisional "powder" that Mt. Hood has to offer, along with Tahoe and Bachelor. Met my wife 11 years ago doing construction work in AL (don't ask), after I ran out of tuition money, and tried to save enough to go back to college by being a professional cook. I finally got smart and got an easier, better paying job that allows me to ski as much as I want, but I regret never doing the resort cook thing Oh, well, my wife got hooked last year, which was the first year in ten I could go whenever I felt like it. She's so stoked she's hassling me about getting passes locked down and getting her some real gear already. And last weekend, at a bachelorette party, she made a new BFF who is a marine biologist in AK with a spare room, buddies that heli, and enjoys "friendly" girl/girl kissing > This season is starting to shape up nicely...

As far as me contributing to this sausage party, I have a vast knowledge of auto mechanics and wife-friendly porn.

Preeemtive BTW: I'll try to score some pics of the B'ette party and post one or two here as an offering to the gods of skibum stoke, I gather that's how you ppl roll. Got a sweet one of my lady fellating the bride while she's holding a huge penis sucker in front of some bushes shaped like cock-and-balls. Nice ass-cuppage going on there, too.

Well ya...but post it dont just brag about it.

Anyways, I've been around entertaining myself on these forums at work for a long time and just started joining in myself. I am 23, from British Columbia. Grew up skiing most of my life but devoted a lot more time to it in the last 3 years in Fernie. I am now back near Vancouver for the season and looking forward to another great winter, not sure what hill I'll be spending most of my time at though.

made the poor decision of living in the Southeast for a time. Why do people like hot, humid weather?

There doesn't have to be actual fucking involved...cucumbers and other vegetables are a perfectly acceptable alternative.

Our world is full of surrender at the first sign of adversity, do not give up when the challenge meets you, meet the challenge. Through perseverance comes the rewards, the rewards that make life so enjoyable.

Just introducing myself and venturing out into JONG territory...

Currently residing in Kansas City, MO but moving out to the Denver area in a couple weeks, looking to take advantage of everything that's pretty much non-existent in KC..

I'm sure I could post a detailed post full of questions/advice requests but for now I'll just say hi and continue to lurk a bit longer!

p.s. e-props to Theodore for recommending TGR... - Courtney

Time to join the rest of you maggots again. Used to frequent here a few years back but got shipped off to work in Yemen, and couldn't get access. I finally befriended our IT guys to let me in but forgot my username, pass & e-mail so here I am again under the Chook handle. The photos and TRs have allowed me to day dream about not being in this $hithole and back in the Canadian Rockies. Good news is I'll be back in Calgary for the 08/09 season and am already gearing up for what should be an epic comeback.

Tryinging to teach these crazy arabs that the real god is the snow god - Chook.

well, I'm out of maggotish retirement and would like to make a few observations. First of all since I left two years ago and these are the observations I've made.
    1. No one worships spatulas anymore. Which really ticks me off. I bought them I loved them and everyone here thought I was cool (or so it seemed) and now there is all these wanna be powder skis that everyone is talking about and they dont even have melting butter graphics. I say we need to go back in time with our ski technology.
    2. Aliases have gotten out of control. Seriously what used to be funny occasionally when we would see people like Ogre and the ref and Akpoofterwhatever.... has gotten out of hand and has made it difficult to wade through the massive amounts of posts here.
    3. The vibe is still here some very very cool people have kept the magic rolling and they desereve uber credit. I simply cant wait for trackhead TR's or the other massive amounts of winter stoke.
    4. From what I understand many pro's have gotten hurt or killed in the past two seasons. Leading me to the question "how big is to big?" and what in the world are we willing to do for recoginition in the ski world?
    5. the bro model has become huge! I skied them right when they first hit the market and loved good to see that the pmgear crew has had enough sucess to keep it moving
    6. Im still madly in love with skiing. To be quite honest I fully walked away for 2years. No magazines no dreams no turns. I came back and after 1 month the temptation to dump my girlfriend drop out of college and head to the wasatch is just as strong as it always was.
So my maggot friends and our not-so-welcome visitors. Please enjoy your time wasted here.

    post padding...

Duker - good to have you back. Yes, alias creation is out of hand. I don't know how these people find the time. I guess their jobs either suck or are boring...or they have no life.
