Damn newbies...So i have tried posting a few new threads on here to gain knowledge/share deals find some powder junkies in my area but for some reason my posts haven't made it up on here, and I'm wondering what the deal is?
Off season, so they are slow to be reviewed, or stupid rookie mistake? bring on the sarcasm...or just help either way is fine by me -Thanks
Throwin my hat in the ring. I too, have lurked for longer than I care to admit. Front Ranger, outdoor industry vet turned chef, blah, blah, blah. Got dogs, ride mostly b.c., bike and run in the summer, surf (poorly) once or twice a year, you all know the drill. See you on the hill.
Stomping my way in as well. Lurked for a bit and though it was time to grow some balls and join. Been skiing for about 10 years, a born and bred Aussie. Finished uni, now working for the man but the hunger for snow is drawing me to do a working holiday to Canada this coming season. Hoping to do an instructors course and avi course while i'm over there. I need to experience life outside the cage of a resort.
Hi all, brand new to the forum. Been skiing since I was a kid but didn't get serious about it until I moved to the Rockies. Been out here 4 years now and am absolutely hooked. Buddy just showed me this forum to help keep me going through the summer. Snow dammit!
Yo. Found TGR a while ago but thought I would come over to ask a few questions and see what's up.
I am a member over at www.easyloungin.com a snowboarding forum that doesn;t talk about snowboarding.
I ride in the Banff, Kicking Horse, Revelstoke region primarily and am big into backcountry snowboarding and big mountain stuff.
Pretty stoked for the upcoming season!
Long time lurker, first time poster...
Ha. I have poured over ski gear talk for years, but I decided I could benefit from communicating with everyone else.
BTW, I'm a mechanic on the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, former suspension engineer, and current product tester for a certain manufacturer of all things bike, so I figured I can pass on some knowledge sometimes.
When I am not doing that, I am completely OCD about skis.

Hey, I'm a kiwi club-field skier, currently in Europe for a couple years to check out this tree-skiing malarkey. I've been a forum member over at snow.co.nz for a few years under a different name.
I'm not much of a writer or photographer but here's my attempt at a TR from a couple years back, by way of a sacrificial offering: http://richardwestenra.com/great-winter-roadtrip/
Hi all, another new member here. I have stumbled across the site many times doing Google searches, figured I ought to finally join up :-) I started a new thread in Tech Talk over a week ago but it still isn't up on there?
This thread <3's the cock.
Thinking I've found my all-time vagina... riding it switch to the road!!!
New dude here. Moving out to revelsuck and have been getting pumped on rogers pass and revelstoke TRs and stoke threads. Also been getting some awesome info on back country safety and gear. Awesome site here with so much info. I seem to constantly now have a google window with site:tetongravity.com followed by some random search open in a tab or 10. I hope to meet John C at some point and see what his angst is all about.
Current Bostonian, soon-to-be Utah transplant in T-minus a week. Quit a solid day job to live in the mountains. I spend warm weather in running shoes, looking forward to my first winter season higher than sea level.
cherry popped . . . watching from the shadows for a while, decided now was a good time to join and get posting. Not as painful as I thought it would be . . .
Been lurking for a while. Almost scared to post after seeing the animals on this forum![]()
A Hozer here. Been lurking for a while but enjoy the blunt reviews given on most subjects. This site is damn near addictive!
Hey guys,
Just joined this forum. I'm a 20 year old college student studying physics in PA. I've been snowboarding for ~14 years. Mostly I'm into all mountain freeriding stuff, so I love going out west. However my friend is an avid park guy and has been getting me into some more park stuff in the past year or so. Right now I ride a k2 zeppelin. Other than snowboarding I play guitar and piano, scuba dive (I'm hoping to get my rescue diver certification this winter) and generally love the outdoors.
Matt
finally taking the plunge - although who knows how much I'll post once I actually start riding in about a month.
As you can see by my join date, I've been here awhile, but was banished to the world of parenting small kids & living near NYC in New Jersey - where skiing goes to die.
I'm lucky enough to live and ski out in AK now, getting into short backcountry stuff this year & looking forward to getting the oldest little one out and ripping around - so that some day, he too can post on here and skip the jong'ing around.
Hey All,
Planning on skiing the village this season, need to pick up some more alpine gear and slim back on my touring gear. Looking to trade some great gear, and stoked for the knowledge shared. Will post some gear once I get permission from admin. Very nice site, wish I would have taken the time to join years ago. cheers
never posted in this thread before, and now i have
oh and i'm the best skier here bitches.
Finally joined. Skiing in summit co this year and skiied copper/wp last year. praying for more la nina.
I can't believe some of you are pro's...
I'm so much better than you are.
I've done this before but lost my username and password. I've lurked and posted a little over the last three years. I spent the previous four years to that down in the tropics and not skiing at all but focusing on whitewater paddling. Before moving to Central America I lived in and around the mountains of Colorado for about four years learning to ski and eventually ski patrolling at one of the big corporate hills in the corridor. Spent season before last in Breckenridge, last year in central Idaho, and now am on top of the world in Lake County. Still guide whitewater trips in the summer and this season will be making a return to snowmo guiding. My biggest focus lately has been in more mountaineering style routes, and I'll be transitioning into AT gear this season after only tele-ing previously. I've been stoked on the info., video, stills, reviews, and general vibe around TGR for quite a while (I've been active in a few internet forums for years) and am pleased to step it up and contribute more this season. cheers to the mags that take the time to read the intros !
