    GoPro Chest Harness?

Im leaning towards snagging a GoPro for the upcoming winter. Just wondering about the angle/perspective quality when using the chest harness for skiing shots. Im not super stoaked about using the helmet mount, although it seems like it probably gives a better perspective, but i have no idea.

does the chest harness provide a good skiing shot? ski tips/poles in the shot or out of it?

I haven't really used the helmet mount, but I like the look of having skis in the frame, so I use the chest mount. I use it mountain biking, too. Just seems to me you have no frame of reference when all you see is the terrain flying by. It feels more like you're there if you see the skis and hands.

I have a few chest harness clips on Youtube, but these were my first attempts--I have to figure out a way to get it less bumpy.

The Sunday River clip is angled a little low and is very choppy. But you can see two (albeit small) airs in it (at :35 and :50) which you wouldn't notice if you didn't have the skis in the frame. Plus, you can cheat and get more 'face shots' with less snow since it's mounted lower than the top of your melon--which is key for east coast skiing at least. May not be a problem in UT.

i agree 100%. i assumed that you got more of yourself skiing in the shot when putting it on your dome as opposed to your chest, but you're saying its the other way around?

Have no idea, but I assumed less--unless you angled it way down. Which you could do, but may not get much of the horizon or slope. I really don't know--the field of view is pretty wide, so maybe it would work. Good luck, and have fun. It's definitely a fun toy to play with.

This has a mix of both. I think each mount makes it look completely different and grabs you in a different way.
