Attorney Mags - How to get a court order enforced

Dealing with a guy that repeatedly violates a signed court order at the expense of the safety of a young child. It seems logical to me that someone should be able to go after this guy. He has admitted to violating it directly to the police and I have documentation of numerous other violations. I feel like my hands are tied and I can do nothing and this guy can continue to do as he pleases with no consequences, except the possibility of a child being harmed. This doesnt however seem to light a fire under anyone's ass that can get anything done. This is purposefully vague. Suggestions appreciated, perhaps more details via PM if necessary. Thanks.

Are you involved in the Court's Order, or are you an outside third that knows the order is being violated? Your options are pretty dependent on your place in the matter.

If he's endangering a child, you might try contacting child protective services (or whatever your local equivalent of that is). They take that stuff seriously.

    Two ways.

If truly endangering the child, call Child Protective Services.

Have the proper party file a Show Cause Motion for Contempt (anyway that is what they call them here).
In order to properly convert this thread to a polyasshat thread to more fully enrage the liberal left frequenting here...... (insert latest democratic blunder of your choice).

Police wont do anything because it is a civil matter. A "writ of assistance" is required in order for the police to enforce anything in a court order.

Am I directly involved in the court order or a third party, well both. I am named in the court order as an individual with certain rights relating to the situation, but it is more directly related to two other individuals. Child and Protective services has been called, but because direct harm has not happened to the child they are reluctant to get involved at the moment.

I will look into the "order to show cause" idea. Thanks.

Strange to hear the police wouldn't do anything. Around here they scoop every idiot up that's guilty of contempt. Are you just getting a lazy beat cop, or are they really not able to do anything. If I were in your position I'd try to contact a detective...specifically, a state police detective. They don't fuck around, and will usually work their ass off to get the bad guy
