Mrs. JMO and I are heading down for a week over Thanksgiving and I have no idea what to do other than play golf with my family and maybe go fishing. Anyone have any suggestions?

Fly to Tahoe and go skiing?
(Sorry, JMO, someone had to respond to this post.)
So I got that goin' for me...which is nice.
Seriously, JMO, nobody's even LOOKING at this thread. I mean, iskibc is asking people what they're having for lunch and 900 people are responding. This could be one of the worst threats in the history of the board.

grow your hair long (back only of course) drink cheap whiskey and cheaper beer while driving around in a mid 80's chevy pickup waving the stars and bars and cranking lynyrd skynyrd.
or thats what id do anyway.

This is easily one of the worst threats in history, right up there with the completion of the Death Star and John Bigbootie's control of the Overthruster.Originally Posted by TRock
Who am I kidding? We're going to eat, drink, sleep, and play golf. And maybe wrastle an alligator or two.
Where in South Carolina are you going? I have family in Charleston and that is an awesome city. Gorgeous women, really good shrimp and grits, damn fine restaurants.
If you are going to be around Charleston let me know and I'll recommend some places.
Charleston is great - awesome brunch at High Cotton. We'll be about 10 miles West of Hilton Head. Savannah's probably closer but even that's a 30 minute drive or so. Don't know if we'll make it to Charleston but I'm always open for suggestions, Cant. What you got?Originally Posted by CantDog
The Mellow Mushroom is a cool bar, check it out(309 King Street). Lots of micros on tap and tons of bottles. DEFINATELY Eat breakfast at the Hominy Grill(207 Rutledge Ave). Best breakfast around. Amazing food, cool little restaurant with outdoor seating, really fresh and simple. Cheap too.
Check out the open air market downtown, some cool stuff to look at and people watch. There is a lady who sells candied pecans which are as close to crack as you can get.
The aquarium is pretty dope, but take a walk around the battery along the shore. Good views more people watching, and lots of amazing restored mansions to gawk at.
The Charleston ghost tour is cool as well, if you like the history thang its worth getting a tour of one of the restored homes. You can also check out the Yorktown aircraft carrier, and they've got a sub you can walk around on too.
Oh yeah, if you want a really nice dinner, checkout Cypress or Carolina's. Both serve regional/southern food, reeeealy fucking good. Cypress has a 4000 bottle wine cellar too, if thats your thing. If anything its worth looking at the list and trying to figure out who would pay 5 grand for a bottle of wine.
I cant think of many nightlife stuff since I've only been down with my parents. But you do have all the girls from the College of Charleston. And you cant get in if you arent hot, and dont like to get drunk and hook up with other girls.
Foley Beach is a cool place to hang out, some neat surf shops too.
There's some fairly good hiking just north of Greenville if your going to pass through the north western part of the state. I dont really know how much goes on at the beech durnig thanksgiving, but there will deffinitley be a party someplace.
Thanks, guys. Don't know if we'll make it up to Charleston or Greenville- if anything we'll hit the beach if the weather's warm enough. Knowing my luck it'll dump in VT an NH while we're gone and we'll miss out on the goods.
