    Cross,

I know you don't go out and hit people on purpose. But, even you must admit the whole "pain train" thing is a bit out of control. Whether hitting, narrowly missing or hollering at "gapers" just remember these people paid for a ticket. Not everyone has the skills to be able to dominate the hill, they're just out having fun in their own way.

If you want to go out maching the hill wouldn't it be better to do that in the BC? Somewhere without the distracting "gapers?"

Bring your bitch ass over to Solitude and I'll make sure to save you one of the snow bank chilled beers by my truck.

How quickly you forget, it was Brad and I that helped out that day. And by helped out, I mean skied around with Jamie P. and acted cool.
(that was really fun and would love to do it again when the conditions are better)

Best sighting today: Seeing Xover cruising on the groomers under Sugarloaf. Kinda blended in with the gapers, gave us all a good laugh on the lift. Come on up tomorrow X, I'll show you where you can ski powder at Alta, it's pretty cool. (I'll buy the first beer at GMD after the last bell as well, it's time for a GMD pizza too).

The "Busch Push" is a phenomena frequently witnessed by skiers at the Big CottonWood Canyon resort of Solitude, Sunday mornings AFTER 10:45 AM.

    Thumbs up

Look, locals know that High-T is a stupid place to stop and pick your nose. They've been around for a while and were Alta gapers once, too.

I think that sometimes people forget that Alta is for all skiers, locals and visitors alike.

Do you think visitors know that high-t is a lousy place to stop? Especially considering that they only spend a few days or at most, a week at Alta?

Another thing -- yelling "on your left/right" is awesome, but don't count on them being able to hear you. Helmets, wind noise, ski noise, and other factors restrict hearing. Some people are just plain hard of hearing.

    :
    that sucks dood,
best skiers are in control and can stop at any time
guess I have been sittin through too many Employee safety lectures but this is prety clear
    1. Always stay in control, and be able to stop or avoid other people or objects.
    2. People ahead of you have the right of way. It is your responsibility to avoid them.

    3. You must not stop where you obstruct a trail, or are not visible from above.
    4. Whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail, look uphill and yield to others.
    5. Always use devices to help prevent runaway equipment.
    6. Observe all posted signs and warnings. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
    7. Prior to using any lift, you must have the knowledge and ability to load, ride and unload safely.

Know the code. It's your responsibility.

he may have violated it too, but as the more accomplished skier overtaking him it is your responsibility to avoid his "gaping"

Reminds me of a couple years ago when there was a full on collision on the High T.
Older Patroller friend of the family turned to me and said " I remember back when people used to actually traverse"

Give me a break people. XOVER is full of enthusiasm and intensity and personally that's why I think that he is a frikkin badass skier and a very cool person. Never seen him cross the line that one of us on this board wouldn't cross at some points. Give the guy a break! On another note the MRS. and I had both kids on the rope tow and my daughter on cecret so life is good!

Ps. sorry to the guy I clipped on the yellow trail yesterday (if he is on this board) I didn't mean to embarrass you in front of your girlfriend and I did say sorry when it was done. Next time if you wish not to be embarrassed in front of your gf you will do what she did and get off the traverse when your ready to stop

edit to say in the overall picture I think XOVER'S bark is bigger then his bite .

Not saying Xover is anything but a rippin skier at all.

Just think before you speak sometimes.

I've been hit by an asshole local, who i knew, on the high t, because he was going too fast and lost control...he didn't say sorry, didn't care one bit...that is what pisses me off about going so fast on the hight t.

    anyway.....skiing tomorrow. check.

Not everybody knows to get off a traverse when they stop. Yes it sucks and yes you may have to stop but clipping people is fuckin rediculous.

to solve this problem i propose we use federal funding to widen the hi-t to include both a carpool lane and a passing lane.

of course after a long high pressure it looks like that anyway.

I by no means am a mean person on the mountain. I am respectable to everybody I come across and expect the same in return. It just so happens that I had an unfortunate experience on the trail that made me actually think I was ready to cross "that line" (meaning would I stop if he didn't get the fuck out of the way). I hit pole and the rest of him got out of the way so I didn't have to stop on the trail and drop within 300 feet of the start of the traverse. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.
