What would you do ? realizing the dream

i am finding myself in a real bad situation. i will end up in mid-january with 2k in my pocket, a truck that i can sleep in, all the gear i need. here are the possibilities available for me. i have to be in BC for april its my only concern...

    1) one month trip to sick destination (ski or sun) spend all my money go back to work for march ski april in Whistler or whatever (paging ak maggots)

2)move out west, take my time getting there, ski jan, hook up with a job 3 or 4 days a week and ride the rest. its in whistler for feb and march, quit, ski april.

    3) spend winter in quebec, rack in ze cash, take next winter off.

    4) any other options ?

i am looking for the work as little as i can ski the most set-up

Dirtbagging in Chamonix would be my choice. They even speak French there.

Fait le tour grande. Premier Kicking Hose, puis Nelson. Fait attention au al neige et suive' la. Eventualment, rester au W/BC. S'il tu veux, tu peut conduire au Baker et d'autre chose Sud de la Border aussi.

Et s'il vous plait, pardonnez my tres mauvais Francais.

at first i thought that said "i am fondling myself!" i would be if i was facing your dilemma, dude le! is there a wrong answer in the lot? i think not.

but while youre thinking about it, could you check your seemingly endless supply of gear deals for some salomon womens x wave 8.0's in a 25.5? thanks.

PS i vote for option #2. what if you blow all your savings in that one-month trip in option #1 and then cant find a job right away when you get back?
#2 is more conservative than #1, but still plenty fun!

that is the easy way out...the hotty g/f hasn't given news in a while and is still in S.A. i don't know how things will be. its a weird relation in a sense that we have spent more time away then together, i am not concerned yet though.

i lost a hole lot of g-f travelling like that, but i was the one away not giving any news, its weird to be on the other side now...

things always fucked up when i got back. so i'm keeping my options open not to be stuck and what if there's no snow ?

rev, i will see you there.

brit: don't carry salomon. only rossi, lange, technica. if your foot is not super wide maybe a Lange Comp 100 JR ?

as for a job, i can always come back to the shop, i have a job hooked up a whistler as a shop monkey too or i could just go work in the pit, doing repairs and tune-ups, allows you to smoke on the job...

Hey how about asking your long time buddy to join you on a kick ass ski trip session... na that would make no sense now would it. Oh and can it be just coincidence but I think he has also that same schedule.

But if you wanna be a loner that is fine too. Not like he ever did any good anywhere ?

Fine he's gone on some drunken rampages and maybe was a little of an ass sometimes and kicked your ass more than once but he also picked your drunken-passed-out ass out of the snowbank a few times and has been a partner on more than one trip that sometimes have turned out pretty wicked...

hey, if you want to shun him now than so be it. But I say give him a call maybe together you can come up with something sweet. Hey but if solo's your bag do what you gotta do

p.s. the chica will be in Mtl soon so why don't ya wait for her and then see.

Oh and finish your fucking school already... don't give up you got two months to give her and that closes the book on the last seven years. Don't do it mang, finish it, quiting is for chumps mang. donne y la claque cris et pette toi un trip apres calisse.

oh other considerations : Davers, G, Ziki, Vero, Soph, Ariane will be in Fernie on the 29th of Rebuary for a week ! They be looking for some local hook up and drinkin partners.

i have just purchased a 1996 gmc sierra in Purrrrfect condition, 106 000 km, we could eat on the engine, its super clean. no rust, the guy i'm buying from just change the wings, he works in a body shop, no need to see that its perfect. bank aproved the 5k loan, over 3 years, keep the payments low. i'm looking at a box to put on the 8' foot trunk and i'm trying to figure a way to put a platform that will work as a bed and place to put all my shizzle. i'm finishing the hollydays at the shop and should be out by Jan 10. heading west.

    heating truck bed stylee

    livin the dream

i'm planning the route so i have contacts here and there but..

right now i'm going in follow the snow mode, tour to the second chair unless its a pow day.

final destination is whistler but...no time schedule.

    who is where ?

You can bet your 2k on a hand of blackjack and double it. This would allow you to ski even more and work even less . Of course, the reverse could also be true .

I dated a Quebecois girl for 4 years and the same thing happened from travelling. I wanted to be in the mountains; her in Quebec. Your story just reminded me of that..and the fact that if I could speak french (you'd think I would have learned in four years!) I'd pack my stuff and spend a winter in France! A buddy did that last year and had epic stories and pics.

They pay dishwashers $10/hr at Alyeska. More than they pay us damn patrollers

The best time to come up here is Mar/Apr. The weather is warmer, the sun is up in the sky, and it stills snows a whole lot.

Oh yeah, it is pretty hard to beat the bc here.
